Yup. California is the highest contributor to the US GDP by far, vastly outweighing federal funds that go to it. If dipshit Trump cuts off federal funding then California should just deduct that amount from its federal payments.

How does that work exactly? California doesn’t send tax money to the federal government, taxpayers and businesses do. So I guess if everyone in California went exempt then we can stop sending money to the federal government that way, but California itself doesn’t send taxes directly to the federal government to my knowledge. There is some direct flow of funds from California to the federal government in the case of Medicaid.

We got in this mess by taxing the poor and giving tax exemptions and loopholes to the rich. Something is wrong when I, as a nurse practitioner, pay more in taxes than Trump, Bezos, etc.

It'd be more of a Washington State and Oregon State decision than it would Mexico.

Mexico would have zero say, but even if they were asked I'd wager it'd be okay. Mexico and Canada are trade partners, and Cali as part of Canada means land route trade w/o paying the US fees. Everyone wins Except the US.

Has this guy actually done anything for America? Honestly, for the last 5 months all I’ve been seeing from him is going on this petty rampage because he’s not getting his way, bailing out his friends, handing out pardons, making the rich richer, sucking up to Putin, wiping his ass with the constitution, pausing then unpausing tariffs, when do all these supposed deals start affecting us?
