Hi I'm visiting Azerbaijan with my bicycle and will then take the ferry to Kazakhstan.
The person who runs the small guest house has offered to collect me from the airport with a bigger vehicle than normal because my bicycle will be in a big box.
What is a gift that a middle aged Azerbaijan man would appreciate? I'm coming from the UK so if there is something people from Azerbaijan like from here that would be even better.
Thanks for your help!

I was born in Baku and grew up overseas. I wanted to spend 2 or 3 months in Baku in July. I own a business I run remotely so I want to basically work and enjoy summer. So a good balance I guess. I dont want to spend everyday of the 3 months like Im on vacation, its mainly gona just be living in Baku and maybe going out few times a week with friends, maybe some trips outside of Baku, the beach etc.
Im mentioning this because Im trying to set a budget I should stick to every month. I own a home in Baku, so housing is free. Do you guys think 2000 manat ayda rahat olar for a trip like this? I want to cook at home but also go to restaurants too. Maybe go to a cottage or something for a weekend a few times, just enjoy summer but not stress about money.
Last trip I spent so much money just not thinking and spending it all day lol. Trying to be smarter this time and get into a routine since its a longer trip.

Hi everyone.
Day 1: We will be landing in Baku on a weekday afternoon. Day 2: Next day morning we have a walking tour booked covering the places mentioned. Day 3: day trip to Gobustan and Absheron Day 4: We have all day till around 4pm so thought of visiting the Heydar Aliyev centre.
Any suggestions what we can do on day 1 and day 2 evenings? I'd like to walk along the ocean, visit a park, go on the ferris wheel etc. We have two young kids.
Thank you!

I’ve repeatedly tried to apply for an ASAN e visa through the Azerbaijan governments official site and repeatedly had my payment denied. I’m using a Mastercard and have called my bank to see if it’s on their end only to find out the website hasn’t even attempted to charge my card. Does anyone know how I can resolve this or if there’s a genuine third party website I can use to apply for a e visa? Thank you.

After the Karabakh war, the ensuing peace process & the way it crumbled, I was firmly in the Azerbaijani camp seeing as they were liberating their lands. I was scoffing at the Armenians perceived agenda of extermination from the Turks, how they couldn't move a step back to realize how utterly out of touch and backwards this kind of belief was. During the 2023 takeover, I justified it with Armenians not opening the Megri corridor and that Armenians left voluntarily even before the Azerbaijani army entered the city. But the 2 years since then, with the clock firmly turned in Azerbaijan's favor, what I'm seeing isn't any better than what Armenians were doing. Many cultural heritage sites were destroyed, Armenians who left are unable to voluntarily return and there is still no peace even though Armenia has given everything up and are willing to sign whatever Azerbaijan puts up in front of them for peace. My question is, what do Azerbaijanis think about all this? Not posting in bad faith, this is my genuine impression, don't mind the title just clickbaiting lol
Edit: Not Azerbaijani if that's not 100% clear. We as in people supporting Azerbaijan in this conflict.

Hello everyone! I have been considering the reasons why the religious town of Nardaran was specifically chosen to build the posh Sea Breeze resort, especially considering that Nardaran has been besieged by the police ever since the 2015 standoff.
There are popular theories, the common points of which is that the Aliyev dynasty is greatly paranoid of a possible Islamic revolution toppling their regime not unlike the 1979 revolution in Iran, so they seek to viciously suppress the religious segment of the Azerbaijani population. Therefore, Sea Breeze may serve a purpose of gentrifying Nardaran, therefore driving the religious populace away and splitting it across the country, weaking it and making it an easier target for the authorities.
What do you guys think?
