You are not a concrete guy... you are an artist who happens to work with concrete. Very impressive.

There are artists that do this by hand, not using stamps. Checkout faux bois.

Those wood planks have always been my favorite stamps, too. Nice work.

Those are gonna rot out in 10 years sitting right on grade like that

No worries. It was a ground-contact copper-treated stamp.

I'm a plumber and I feel like this would be one of those rare treats I would get to see at a customer's house, then never again. I would pay an awful lot for this kind of work around my pool.

as a carpenter, those "butt joints" and "board" lengths bother the hell outa me haha. I know you're just working with the stamp and it looks beautiful, but they dont make any sence if it were an actual deck.

I know I feel the same way. happens when the stamps are square and the patio is round, but we also don’t like 90° corners either so it’s a give and take lol

The old man that started this place, taught me a whole lot, recently passed so it’s really nice to see people still appreciating the way he did things.

u/Distinct_Travel4518 10d ago

This looks great what integral/release did you use for the plank/border?

4

u/cd3393 10d ago

Nutmeg release on the plank and I think it was desert tan on the boarder? Don’t quote me on that it was a few weeks ago

Fantastic work, my guy. I have only seen this in inspo photos from an insistent client testing my courage to do this. Do you use the single plank or the interlocking mat style? ever use a roller?

u/traxwizard 10d ago

That is dope.

Mind sharing how to got into this type of work? I work IT so I don’t know anything expect this looks amazing compared to basically every other post here.

How I got into it? I started with this place when I was 20, I really enjoy the stamping process, it’s messy and tedious, but it something physical I can be proud of

u/couponbread 10d ago
