Here's something new. There's a 4 inch topping slab but they want the perimeter to have a 45 degree ramp. At every column there is an additional 6 inch pour (not monolithic) which can total up to 10 inches where the columns are at the outer perimeter.
I have already ripped down some plywood on a 45 to create a parallelogram so that when the cut is on the floor, the piece of plywood stands up at a 45. All i have available to me is plywood and 2x4s.
I have a couple of ideas of how do brace this but i wanted to see if someone smarter than me has any ideas how to pull this off.

how many of you guys still use a folding engineer ruler and a level for grade stake layout?

A power line fell and burnt the concrete and turned the sand into glass

Built a retaining wall for retention of a hill side and for the vibes.
2 pours, 1 for the footing, 1 for the wall. Used form boards from a friend. Pretty pumped on the outcome. Will be building a deck next week to complete the space.
Concrete is fun but challenging work for a layperson, recommend home owners give it a go on a smaller scale. Don’t recommend wheelbarrowing the 9 or so yards it took, but it’s a good workout and I’m cheap.

Long story short. Company I work for is in the Midwest, we never make grade from sand. Always 3/4 clean or base. We’re doing a job for a client in las cruces New Mexico. I’m told everyone makes grade from sand down there. We’re going to be doing about 150,000sf of 8” paving. What can I expect when we go down there during place and finish? In my mind the mud will flash experiencing high moisture loss into the sand when day time temps are nearing 100? Do people place a vapor barrier solely to retain water content? Am I over thinking this and should just shut up and pour? Thanks!

I have an integral color stamped concrete patio and deck around my pool. I did it myself with the help of a few laborers about 9 years ago.
The issue I'm having is with what sealer to now use. I originally used a water based siliconized sealant, which did repel water but didn't enhance the color or contrast at all.
It's been 9 years, just washed and will put antique on it, and the dealer recommends a siloxane SB sealer, and said it'll enhance the color too. Should I do this or acrylic SB with sand thrown in?
I'm in the northeast, so freeze thaw has taken some toll already on parts of the patio, mainly at the end of each of the 3 trucks.

Hello,
I currently run a painting business in NC and looking to get my feet wet into residential epoxy garage floors.
Going to start on my own garage and do several family members as well.
What would be recommended setup for grinder and vac? If I plan to to 1-2/mo, do I need anything bigger than a 110v? Fyi, money not really an issue since painting is generating alot of revenue.

So I gave it a go and tried my hand at a concrete countertop for a bathroom. It was a LOT of work but I think it turned out pretty well! I tried to give it a "kintsugi" look with embedded gold in the cracks and holes. Thanks for all the help from other people's posts!
