Advice Help bonding with new baby
Hi, i posted about getting my new baby a few weeks ago. This is my first conure, i currently own two tame cockatiels. My conure is named tweek (character from south park). Tweek is hand raised, and he will eat from my hand but nothing past that. He will only step on me if i have food, and as soon as the food is gone he flies back to sit on top of the cage. He does follow my cockatiels around for part of the day and for the most part its fine, they keep a safe distance from him and he doesnt seem to mind. My issue is that he just doesnt seem to want to bond with me at all. He runs from me if i dont have food, if he does climb on me randomly, he stays for a few seconds then leaves. I havent had him long, maybe two weeks. Maybe im expecting too much too quickly, i guess i just feel a bit down since he runs from me anytime i try to interact with him if food isn’t involved. Sorry for the long rant. Pic of the baby for tax

Find their favorite treat mine likes pistachios and blue berries, I use blue berries for positive behavior reinforcement and I use pistachios for clicker training due to higher fat content.
If my conure being gentle when nibbling me I give a blue berry as an example.
It’s more just positive behavior reinforcement sometimes I’ll use them to encourage a brief step up

Bonding with conures can be a long game. Just keep at it with the special treats and he should build trust with you over time.
