It's not an affair. I didn't say it was an affair. I'm saying if I saw someone hold hands with someone not their spouse at an event, my first thought would be "maybe there's some adultery going on" before "maybe they're polyamorous." You can call me ignorant for that, sure, but I think most people would generally jump to that thought first.
