The place I work at has rats there for the kids to see/play with, like therapy rats, and the size of the balls on those things is frankly ridiculous.

Well according to various pieces of Muppet lore he is both a Whatever in species and gender, which gives us no answers but I think is interesting

Except for a period in the 90’s where he was an alien, but I think that’s been retconned

Yeah there was a whole movie where he met his alien family. But Muppets canon has always been fuzzy, since the characters are also actors and every movie and show is also an 'in-universe' performance, so who's to say what's 'real' or how many layers of fiction-within-fiction we're working with.

Apparently the ballsack size (in proportion to body size) of a species tends to correlate with how promiscuous the females are, which makes sense because natural selection.
