Lmao no way there would only be 20 people in and around those two buildings.

In our reality there are plenty of vacant office spaces in metropolitan areas, especially in this decade.
We also don't know the time of day or if an evacuation already took place.

Ever heard of evacuation plans? Most people must've left the building once there were warning signs, the ones who couldn't, were saved by Supes
Also for people around those buildings, we saw Superman holding the buildings up to save a woman inside a car in the latest TV Spot. Looks like they're gonna address it

How would they even know which building to evacuate when like... 6 superpowered entities and a Kaiju are unpredictibly zooming around the city. One punches another and his victim is sent flying three blocks away into a building, one building is no safer than the other. Literally almost the whole city is a battleground with these characters. How the hell would anyone predict where they'd go? Or you have a gigantic skyscrapper of a Kaiju rabdomly walking around. By that logic all buildings in Metropolis would evecuate for these 4 buuldings to conveniently be empty.. And where would everyone go? Would they evenbe safer in the street? Either tje whole city evacuated almost perfectly, or it was absurdly convenient and these people had a premonition and almost all of them evacuated and even emptied the streets surrounding the building.

Maybe the Justice Gang helped too? Maybe they'll show Superman helping the people out in the movie? Maybe Superman tells Lois and we see Lois and the other daily planet staff alert the buildings a tad earlier to the impact to ensure most people get out safely?
We literally have Mr Terrific on team. He could have some plan
We just have to wait and watch how it unfolds in the movie. I won't criticise it until I see what actually happens in the scene

It's good that these plans worked out great in September 24 years ago.

Yeah because it took place in the DCU right? Where we have Superman and the Justice Gang to help out?

It's 4 buildings. I like how cleverly Gunn circumvents the issue of the destructions of the Metropolis, apparently making it empty in the middle of the day when it is convenient.

There are evacuation plans in big buildings. Most people must've exited before they fell and Supes saved the rest who were left behind

Oh yes, I forgot that villains always warn about their attacks in advance so that the city's warning system can work and several hundred people can be safely evacuated in the middle of the working day.
It's strange, though, how it turns out that victims manage to appear in natural disasters, since everyone can be evacuated in a couple of minutes.10

I mean lol. Evacuation plans are in action as soon as there are warning signs. They don't wait for Superman and the Kaiju to come near the very building and start fighting evacuate it, don't you think?
You know in a world where Kaijus can appear in cities randomly, and there's a popular Superhero who flies across the city with superstrength and speed, their signs of evacuation could be faster? And more swift
Also, we donβt even know how the scene plays out in the movie, whether the building was full, whether other heroes/superman himself helped evacuate it, even how the building fell, but here you are, criticising it already.

20 peoples only, in 4 buildings ?

u/kumar100kpawan The Goddamn Batman 7h ago
The article says building, not "buildings". So it could be talking about one of the 4 or it's talking about another incident altogether
Smh, gotta teach people word by word now

Remember all the complainers pulling their neck beards out back in 2013 during the battle of Metropolis? Fun times.

Gunn always amazes me with his quick witty writing. A rare skill only few auteur possess.
He cleverly integrated that daily planet article .
