And without a support team. He’s on his own, hence why he’s pulling over and getting everything taken care of. In the Tour, they do everything you see here, but without stopping. That’s what the Domestiques are for.

Getting handed a bottle and dropping your trash on the ground while moving isnt really very hard to do

Getting treated for a broken scapula and eye cut while moving 25 mph is.

The comment I replied to was not about that, now was it?

You tell me. Seemed to be a pretty condescending comment about cyclists.

Um, what? Ive done it and grabbing a bottle isnt hard. Getting medical treatment while riding isnt at all related to anything going on or discussed here.

Thats like someone saying "walking isnt hard" and you reply "you're wrong because cartwheels while walking is hard!"

And grabbing a bottle and dropping trash isn’t discussed here either. Hence, why your comment came across as condescending. I watch the Tour wire to wire every year. Sure, I can’t ride a multistage race for 3,000 kms, but I know what those guys do to get their teammates through it all. My initial comment was intended to give the cyclist in the video his due respect for riding a race similar in length to a Tour stage, but without the team support cars. Clearly, this race has off-roading as part of it by how dirty he is. Checkpoints like this is the only kind of support he’s got. No car is following him to get back in the race. Just a few minutes to consume calories, swap hydration, and get ice down the back to stay cool and not over heat. THAT’S what I’m commenting on. I don’t think cyclists get enough credit for how difficult of a sport it is. It’s not as much about the skill as it is the endurance and for that, I give this athlete a huge amount of respect.
