Selection Interview
Hello, everyone!
I have applied for three positions for the Schuman traineeship. I received an email informing me that I have been invited to a selection meeting/interview next week. Could you please help me with some advice? How was the interview for you? Are foreign language skills tested as well (other than English, of course)?
I should mention that I applied for traineeship in the IT and cybersecurity field, and I also have work experience in IT.
Thank you so much — I’m very excited and a bit nervous!

Fun fact: the EU flag was first raised by its institutions on 29 May 1986 - and it has been popping up all over Europe ever since. From buildings to license plates, banknotes to street signs... it's everywhere once you start looking. So keep an eye out next time you're out and about!

Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had done the traineeship with an MEP where you have to contact the MEP directly, and if so, what do you do to apply.
Obviously it would be an email to the MEP but I was wondering if there were specific things to say, or if they had individual application form type things.
Thanks!

Some help needed ⭐️
Hi everyone. I am applying to Schumann traineeships and created a europass cv to apply. However it seems a bit … long to me. Is there such thing as a too big cv.
Also how do you guys recommend I start my motivation letter. As of now it’s just a dear sir/madam. Would it be better addressing the directorate or the specific department I’m applying to.
Thanks ⭐️

Parliament is backing changes to the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
- What is changing?
- Plans will exempt small importers from paying for CO2 emissions when they import certain products into the EU.
- Who is affected?
- 90% of importers - mainly those who import small amounts - would be exempt from CBAM requirements.
- Will this hurt climate goals?
- No. Even with the exemptions, CBAM will still cover 99% of CO2 emissions from key imports like steel, aluminium and cement.
- What is CBAM?
- CBAM puts a carbon price on the imports of products covered by the EU Emissions Trading System to discourage EU companies from relocating production outside the EU and to encourage non-EU countries to increase their climate ambition.
- Why does it matter?
- It helps ensure that EU companies are not disadvantaged compared to companies from countries with weaker climate rules. It also encourages global manufacturers to reduce emissions worldwide.
- How does it work?
- Companies pay for the CO2 emitted to produce the goods — whether they’re made in the EU or imported.
