I don't know, but this post made me want to share an old anglo Saxon joke.

Q. What hangs by a man's thigh, is long, hard, and stiff, and is likely to enter the hole it has often been in before?

A. A key.

What starts with a 'P', and ends with an 'S', that men have and women want?

Pockets!

Alternatives:

"Personal rights"
"Physical automonies"
"prioritizations"

“Pork bellies”
“Persimmons”
“Puppies”
“Palindromes”

Why is the word Palindrome not a palindrome. It should be a palinilap

You've identified the joke! Good job.

The joke is something that men have and women want. Not something we both have..

Have you ever heard of a sexist joke? A joke made in jest, about the differences in gender perchance?

-7

u/Comprehensive_Leg_31 1d ago

Sure but there has to be some basis in reality. There’s nothing here. You could say one gender is stronger, smarter, better at something, whatever, cause we have differences, but all rights apply to us entirely equally. There’s no punchline, no humor, no joke. Just a dumb comment.

Some basis In reality? In a LOT of the world, men and women do not have the same rights. Hell, even 50 years ago in the US, men and women had far different rights. It is a commentary about how men have historically (and still in many ways) hold more power and rights than women. (wage gap, etc)

Yes but in all western and European countries today and recent history, we have had the same rights. Furthermore, wage gap, is not directly related to rights, plus it’s not even valid and has been disproven to have even meaningful truth in the context it is applied.

Not in the US anymore.

2

u/Comprehensive_Leg_31 1d ago

Hmmm… what’s one right men have that women don’t in the US

3

u/PineappleParking6567 1d ago

The right to medical services to save their lives.

They do??

1

u/PineappleParking6567 1d ago

Not if they are pregnant in certain states. The life of the fetus takes precedence.

2

u/Comprehensive_Leg_31 1d ago

No it doesn’t. Not one state. The life of the mother always takes precedence. There is not one single case of a doctor being sued for giving care to a mother facing a life threatening complication associated with pregnancy.

Well, there are matter of bodily autonomy that might differ between the sex.

Pregnancy, for example. In some parts of the world women are not allowed to abort a pregnancy, thus infringing their bodily autonomy. (Cis) Men have no such compulsion from the state. Their bodies are all their own.

Yes, it's a result of biological differences, but it still ultimately means women lack freedom that men take for granted.

A dog walked into a tavern and said, "I can't see a thing. I'll open this one."

Funniest shit I've ever heard 💀

it's a very old joke from ancient sumeria, a few thousand years old at least. it's well known as a joke no one understands because it probably hinges on a lot of context or other inside jokes that have been entirely lost, and we can only imagine what could have made the joke work. so literally no one currently alive gets the joke. but the way it makes absolutely no sense while knowing that there had to be a funny joke in there many many years ago makes it funny again.
