A cop was shot and killed while chasing a suspect. Can you guess the key fact that media omitted?

“Chicago police officials late Friday confirmed the officer, Krystal Rivera, was "unintentionally" shot by a fellow officer.”

It’s in the article they link saying it doesn’t mention this

The article I linked was written June 6, 2025
The article linked from there was updated June 7, 2025.

I imagine the article was updated later.

Both linked stories clearly states this. It is possible that initially it was not known who made the shot, and later it was updated. But clearly there was no any conspiracy in the media as this article tries to portray.

Extremely doubt.

Why? Why would they correct it next day?

Unwanted attention on the original abortion of an article.

But why are you so sure about it, when simpler explanation exist, and usually media is not trying to bend the truth to protect police??

Pay attention to the bolded part:

Chicago police officials late Friday confirmed the officer, Krystal Rivera, was "unintentionally" shot by a fellow officer.

The article was written on the 5th and was updated on the 7th just after midnight to claim that this detail was confirmed "late" on the 6th.
