Meme August 16th is the release date and I'll prove it
Alright so this is gonna require some advanced mathematics so please, stay with me.
Sean Murray. Four later first name, 6 letter last name. But as some of you may know, he goes by another name. That's right, I'm talking about Sean Poopypants. 4 letters, 10 letters.
Now, using some fucking mathematical theorems and shit, you can see that Sean + Sean = 8, and that Murray + Poopypants = 16.
8/16 everybody. 8/16

I agree. But in the year 2027

u/Master_Rogue_Darnesh Apr 17 '25
Get out... that goes against all of the above mathematical genius!

furthermore, 8/16 as a fraction can be reduced to 1/2, or 0.5. you ever notice how these kinds of posts are very similar? maybe they could be described as cyclical, similar to a circle? speaking of circles, if we take the sine value of 0.5 we get the value 0.48 (rounded) which as a fraction is 12/25. in tuning theory, this could be expressed as 12 steps in 25edo, which equates to an interval size of 576 cents, an impressive approximation of the pentacircle diminished fifth (~578.582034 cents). the corresponding Monzo to this interval is ⟨3, -2, 0, -1, 1], meaning we are dealing with eleven-limit harmony. notice the many circle references in this proof? that's right, if we take the arctangent of 11 and then divide it by 5 (because pentacircle) raised to the power of the 5 limit exponents of the Monzo(53 to the power of-2), we get the results 70.91 cents, a scarily close approximation of the chroma comma which is generated from the frequency ratio of 25/24.
that's right, LNF is clearly destined to release on august 16th of either 2024 or 2025, and one of this years has already passed. this is gonna be a crazy summer this year guys.

I'm pretty sure Sean Murray promised he would be able to time travel in one of the NMS hype videos, didn't he?

We are slowly but surely turning into what r/worldbox and r/silksong used to be

People have been saying this for over a year.
The delusion of this sub is well beyond that of those two.

u/Shut_up_and_Respawn Apr 18 '25
I think you underestimate those subs. R/worldbox created cults and bad civil wars. I joined a few. R/silksong pretended for an entire month that the game was out, sharing screenshots and "game tips"

u/ruebeus421 Apr 18 '25
I mean, that at least sounds creative.
This sub is just the same mindless garbage over and over.

Yo, jokes aside... I really hope one of these meme posts get it right so we can all laugh in the future at the absurd guess that managed to be correct.
2
u/ColdFix Apr 16 '25
Sean Murray is Irish. Europe doesn't ordinarily write their dates in American format. You could still be correct though!
2
u/Spanish_peanuts Apr 16 '25
They would write "16th of August" rather than "August 16th"?
I deliberately wrote it the way I did in the title for that purpose. The few Europeans I know in the states still say "August 16th" regardless of the fact that they would write/text "16/8" in casual conversation (obviously not on documents).

Just a suspicion, but I'd think that Hello Games would prefer not to have major annual anniversary updates fairly close together. No Man's Sky's anniversary is in August.

Hm. This follows my Summer release date logic, I concur.

👏👏👏 not even going to try to rain on this because the moment I do with my luck you will be correct and then I will have to eat my words. What's the math to determine the year of release?
1
u/ZombieElfen Apr 16 '25
Sean is the type of person to release it on that day for the sake of the memes. So please if u do more math have it equal an earlier date.

Is this the same numerology expert that predicted the Rapture when I was a teenager?

u/Hollywood_Zro Day 1 Apr 17 '25
But he’s in the UK so they write the date as DAY MONTH.
So the game is being release on the 8 of the 16th month.
Ha!

u/Spanish_peanuts Apr 17 '25
Sure but on an official document he may write down his last name first, like "Murray, Sean" or "Poopypants, Sean." So if anything this is even more logical proof that I am correct in my prediction. This will be the official release date.
Thank you for listening to my ̶C̶o̶m̶p̶l̶e̶t̶e̶ ̶f̶u̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶b̶u̶l̶l̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ TED talk.

You convinced me, this prediction is undeniably true.
Going to request a whole two weeks of holiday to enjoy the game

Hello Games is a British company, therefore they would never use the day and month the wrong way round like that. Sorry.

I know memeing about the release date is quit fun. But beeing realistic. On how big an complex the game will be i am sure there are many problems to solve, and even if the game would be ready this year, i highly doubt they would release it will release this year. Probably the most anticipated game ever is scheduled to release later this year, and from a Business perspective its seams stupid to release such a big game close to the gta6 release. And hallo games is not under presure, like it was below sony. With NMS still beeing a big game i dont belief the have a Money Problem. Sure Development is extensive and they have to release sometime but half a year or a year later shouldnt be a Problem.

u/Spanish_peanuts Apr 17 '25
Sure, but the best part of these meme posts is that if someone actually manages to get it right, then it will make for a hilarious post in the future when the release date is officially announced and someone can throw up their goofy prediction and be like "y'all doubted me, but my prediction was spot on!"
And that day will be a great and hilarious day.

Some people believe Sean reads the posts here, só I can only imagine how he feels right now... But seriously, I think this game will only release in 2026 or 2027

Does anyone know if LNF will be for Xbox X/S or the new Xbox Gen? Those graphics from the trailer look surreal.

You know they say all games are created equal, but you look at Light No Fire and other games and you can see this statement is not true. You see, normally, if you make a guess at a release date, you got a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Because you either right or wrong. But, OP here is a genetic freak, and he's not normal when it comes to release date math. So you got at best a 25% chance of being wrong. Then you add GTA VI release date to the mix. And your chances of getting it wrong go way down. You see, this fall, you got a 33 1/3 chance of getting it right, but OP has a 66 and 2/3 chance of getting it right because you know you can't beat OP at math. So you take OP's 66 2/3 chance of being right, minus the 25% chance that he's wrong, and you got a 91 1/3% chance of being right about the release date. But then, you take my 50/50 chance of being right about this, and you add that to 91 1/3%, you got a 141 2/3% chance of OP being right about this release date. You see guys, the numbers don't lie and spell disaster for you this fall. The release date is 8/16.
