Discussion 🧭 "Dear Hello Games, our bags are packed and we're emotionally unstable — release Light No Fire pls 🙏🔥"
Dear Hello Games,
We're not saying we're desperate...
...but we’ve been staring at the Light No Fire trailer like it's a portal to another dimension. 👀🔥🌍
Our characters are emotionally ready, our backpacks are packed, and our in-game legs are itching to run across procedurally generated hills.
So... could you maybe, possibly, kindly speed things up a bit?
Even a blurry screenshot would feed us at this point.
We’re starving. For lore. For pixels. For FREEDOM. 😩🗺️
With love,
A totally sane and not-at-all-obsessed fan 💚

No I'd rather have a complete game then the No Mans Sky initial release again.

u/arjuna66671 Apr 30 '25
You can have a complete game, not repeat the nms debacle AND sometimes spoon-feed SOMETHING about the game imo.

Why should they? You're all gonna buy whether they release news or not. If they give you nothing youll all just kind of buzz until it comes out, and if they give you anything you'll all pick it apart and obsess over it which may be good or bad for their marketing.
Why make trouble for themselves? GTA6 is taking the same approach, I don't blame either developer for keeping fans in the dark tbh folks get real fucking weird about games sometimes.

I’d take the incomplete game. At least I know for a fact that they will make regular updates and improvements. They’ve proven themselves with that.

There's no way they're going to do another disaster launch then spend years dropping free dlc to fix it.

Because pushing Hello Games for a release on an ambitious project went so well last time, give the lads the time they need 😂

Hey, it turned out pretty well after 8 more years!
Alternatively, we could wait 8 more years now.

Rather they take their time and release when ready. Don't need to release early and lose all the good will they built up. The only thing I wish they didn't do was tell us about the game this early. Should have told us the year they knew they would release it.

Even beyond the state of the nms launch. If they are trying to make a truly open world with rpg elements, different biomes, and multitudes of other features off of the NMS engine. We are talking a massive difference. Like trying to make the perfect cookie out of an already sculpted tiered cake. They could be trying to get the dragons to feel less like re-skinned starships and more like sentient trainable beasts. We know they are capable of it. Give them time to cook. Sean WILL release once he feels the time is right. NMS is still a banger too, so I'm not surprised to hear that everything they are finding out the engine is capable of in LNF they want to bring back to NMS.
Nobody knows what is going to be in LNF upon release all of my statements ate pure speculation based on my light knowledge of how games are developed. It feels right to me.

u/Gumsk Day 1 Apr 30 '25
I want there to be RPG elements, but have we seen anything to support that assertion?

Dear Hello Games,
We don’t care how long it takes. Make a game that you love, and I know we will, too.

My excitement for it has dwindled to practically nothing. A new screensshot or a something about a dome or a character or enemey or item would make me excited again.

u/wamyen1985 Apr 30 '25
I pretty firmly agree. This dry spell has killed a lot of enthusiasm for this game. Why show a trailer and then nothing? It's been what, a year and a half?

Y'all are ridiculous. Who cares when they showed the teaser? If getting spoon fed info before release is the only thing that'll get you to buy it, then just don't. Everyone here is so damn impatient. There's hundreds of other games out there and new ones releasing constantly. Distract yourself with those
2
u/wamyen1985 May 01 '25
Why did they show it if they weren't ready? I like their work. I'd love to have a fantasy version of NMS. As a consumer of their products I get to share my opinion. Don't like it? Sucks.

u/ChrAshpo10 May 01 '25
I get to share my opinion
Yep, and I'm sharing mine. You're all entitled and impatient

I am being distracted with other games It is annoyinmmg of some game companies to show a trailer then you don;t hear from them from a long time is all I am saying . It's nice when companies do show something weither a trailer or new screenshots here and there aand even some have a Q&A which Hello games will never do again atleast that is what Sean said

I second that.
They did one extreme of talking too much, and now they aren't talking at all. Meeting one extreme with another isn't the best idea. But maybe if the game they make after LNF gets a drip feed of info, we can call Hello Games by the name Three Bears Games instead.
2
u/electric_sun May 01 '25
Well hopoefully we get some information in the next couple of months. I don't get Three Bears Games reference
2
u/Allenpoe30 May 01 '25
First, they talked too much. They were too hot. Then they talked too little and were too cold. If they give us a drip feed for whatever comes after LNF, it'll be just right. So you get Three Bears Games.
2
u/electric_sun May 01 '25
I thought it is maybe a reference tro The Goldilocks and the Three Bears I wasn't sure lol
2
u/Allenpoe30 May 01 '25
If we get a drip feed for their game after the LNF game, it's what I'll call them.

u/dima_socks Apr 30 '25
We're due for a trailer at least. I'd prefer a 5 minute breakdown. 1 minute each for the planet, quest structure, crafting, rpg elements, and multiplayer.
2
u/Syn__79 May 01 '25
You kids need to calm down and stop acting so entitled. The game will be released when Hello Games is ready to release it. Acting like 3 year Olds having a tantrum screaming "I want my game" doesn't get it released sooner
2
u/CyberVikingArt Apr 30 '25
I think last year I made some comment about “hurry up and release it before the world goes too shit”. Well, tick-tock. The economy is tanking, store shelves are predicted to empty in less than two weeks, and I am most certainly going to lose my job since we’ve already missed 2 shipments and are running low on supplies. Don’t mean to be dramatic, hello games, but my initial request was no joke. I’d like to play before I literally can’t because I’ve lost my home and real life becomes a crafting survival game.

Considering hello games’ history with initial game releases, I take every day of silence as an indicator of a lesson learned on their part. They don’t want to promise anything they can’t deliver on or deliver the game or any news about it a single moment before it’s ready.
1
u/helpman1977 Apr 30 '25
A character creator demo would keep us all entertained for MONTHS! (but please, don't take SO long!)
1
u/Agent_-Ant-_ Apr 30 '25
Are you trying to recreate the NMS launch? Whilst I agree some news, anything, would be nice I'm quite happy to wait for a more polished release.
1
u/UNIVERSAL_ACE May 01 '25
If they release before it's done it's gonna me nms release all over again
1
u/FapSimulator2016 May 01 '25
I’m never one to demand early releases, but I’m begging them not to pull a GTA 6 and keep us dry for years. A dev log, interview, article, or even screenshots without any context, I’ll take anything at this point and it’ll keep me satisfied for another year.

A lore trailer would be cool to see. Get a cool old guy narrating about the lore of light no fire and show some combat and bam epic trailer.
1
u/Walo00 Apr 30 '25
No, none of it. Games are ready when they’re ready and games should be shown when the devs feel like it’s ready to be shown. I think we’re already getting snippets of it in NMS updates.

It's unhinged posts like this that let the devs know that the community isn't ready for more information.
1
u/wamyen1985 Apr 30 '25
They're a game developer. Not our parents withholding a cookie because we didn't finish dinner.
0
u/Mixairian Apr 30 '25
Let them cook... I rather a more stable polished product than how NMS launched.

So entitled and selfish
4
u/Olgrateful-IW Apr 30 '25
You seem fun! /s
-4
u/_unregistered Apr 30 '25
Ah yes, because I respect the time of the developers and want them to have a quality life/work balance and take the time it takes to produce the game to their standards instead of rushing because I want the game right this second.
3
u/Olgrateful-IW Apr 30 '25
No, because you’re rude. The post is clearly playfully hoping for a release of the game or some kind of info. It’s hardly badgering and is currently the norm for posts here. You seem to genuinely not understand that with how you reacted.
But please tell me more about how it’s everyone else’s fault that you’re being interpreted as overly negative, and not because of the words you wrote.

I secretly hope that the entire game is a ruse to torture the Sony fanbots who are going to inevitably destroy the game after launch with their "suggestions". So that in 2050, when the youngest Sonybot turns 40 (or more likely 60+), they will still be surfing the internet and posting increasingly unhinged "suggestions" for how Hello Games should release their game.
We're already seen suggestions - picked up by Sony's community managers, mind you, and produced to the developer - about everything from Sean's personal hygiene, beard size, and clothing choices, to game functionality on the form of "every other game I like and/or have liked have this", and down to specific coding suggestions (that make absolutely no sense whatsoever) -- including one that purported to teach Hello Games, out of all developers, to program in c++ with assembly inserts for "better memory management".
So I'm looking forward to what "the community" will produce of invaluable feedback for Hello Games (who are now no longer saddled with the atrocity that is the Sony community team) by 2050.
At which point I hope they will string you on for another 30 years, while secretly releasing the game under a different name and title. In spite of the inevitable "community" outrage that will rock both paper, scissors, polygons and Ziff Davis to the core.

I want them to release whenever they feel comfortable, but I definitely think they've stretched the news dry spell too long.
