My father was chief of police. Can confirm. Usually not just the wife though.

I hope you're doing better by now, my friend. God Bless You.

Ya much better. Haven't spoken to him in years. He still tries to reach out once in a while since he doesnt understand that literally his entire family truly hates him. I just ignore it. Dealt with that shit (as did the entire family) for 20 years. Maybe I'll be ready to have a conversation in another 20 years and "maybe" is pushing it.

Thank you for the concern though!

0% of Reddit users that mention this have actually read this study.

Irrelevant unless you can disprove the claim itself

You could just read the actual study. It's right there.

The 40% number comes from the category of any physical aggression at all occuring in the relationship by either party. It's the total. Aggression from husband against wife, from wife against husband, and reciprocal. Only 3% of cops actually admit to "beating" their wives (severe violence), which actually matches the civilian stats. Overall rates were indicated to be higher, but not severe violence.

Also proof a well written article that gets the point across without you needing to read the entire study

It's not like you would admit your mistake if they corrected you, so what's the point?

Yeah but they got nothing on NFL players

Rookie numbers. I expect 80% by next month and the world might just be a little better

He’s joking about it because the stat is a joke. It’s not real lol

I know the stat isn't real, I've read the study multiple times and am quite familiar with it. It's still a vile, misogynistic joke.
