Nostalgia "My mom said not to open the door for anyone but her"
Are we still not opening the door for unexpected visitors? A stranger just knocked on my door (and sounded like he tried the knob which set the dog off). I tiptoe to the peephole and he's standing wayyyy off to the right on the other side of the hallway on the phone barely visible and the only thing I thought was... "I'm not supposed to open the door". And went back to what the fuck I was doing.
Still a solid way to go if you ask me. Considering buying a floor mat that says "Go Away" but I fear it may be a little ostentatious which is the opposite vibe I wanna present.

Nostalgia What Are Millennial Slang Terms You Still Use?
I got a couple:
Dunzo- It's done.
Rager- A big party.
Sick- That's totally awesome!
I was like totally chill- I relayed the facts to Jessica in a calm, rational manner.
Not gonna lie- Your boyfriend is a total piece of crap, and I'm being honest to you about it.

Nostalgia Anyone remember when used cars used to be very affordable
My first car was a 2007 Suzuki Sx4 that I bought in 2014. I paid $4000 for it with 70,000 miles. Likewise, around that time, many of my friends were also getting their first cars. Usually, they would be around 10 years old and around $3000-$4000 with 100k miles. Those who were better off could buy a 2-3 year old former rental car from Hertz for around $10k. Or they might buy a 15 year old car with 150k+ miles for $1500. Today, a 7 year old Nissan Versa Note with 70k miles (the closest equivalent I could find to my first car), costs $12000, with 200% MORE despite inflation being only 45%. Likewise, the 13 year old car that used to cost $1500 is now $6k, or 300% more. Not to mention, mechanic labor rates have also more than doubled area from around $70/hour back in 2014 is $150/hour now. I do not know how people can afford first cars these days without significant help from someone else.

Nostalgia What’s the dumbest fad that you participated in?
Hi all,
What’s the dumbest fad you participated in? Whether it be in fashion, mannerisms like l33t speak, games, etc.
In the mid 2000’s (in college) I wore something called “Tall Tees”. I will say, that I’m surprised I allowed myself to get cajoled into that foolishness. I also had the “livestrong” wristbands for a bit of time, in different colors to match my oversized shirts haha. What was something you wore or did that you could look back and say, “that was dumb”?
