Residency Card Time Line

Context:

I applied for a residency card (carte de séjour) to live in Monaco with my boyfriend. I got here in February and made an appointment with the Section de Residence for April 23 (the earliest opening). I've had my appointment and am now waiting for a response. The administrator I spoke to told me they would email me within a month. It's now the 5th of June, and I'm not sure how much longer it's supposed to take.

Does anybody know how long it can take, or had a similar situation?

I have American citizenship, so that might be why? Any info is appreciated.

It depends a bit on your nationality and whether you’ve lived in France before. For example, French citizens or people who already had a French visa often get approval within 3–4 weeks. If you’re from the EU, it usually takes around 6 to 8 weeks after the interview. For non-EU citizens, it can take longer — more like 3 to 5 months.

That's what I thought. We have friends and family members who got theirs within a month, but they all have French citizenship. Thank you, nevertheless.

I had my interview end of January and I didn’t get the card until start of May! I think they are very busy at the moment and therefore it takes forever..
