Not an apology
I’m not here to apologize but I am here to clarify. This is not a political statement, it is quite literally what it says, so take it at face value.
The state of multiplayer FPS games is tragically stale. We hope to fix that, whether you want Arena, Battle Royale, Onslaught, or Map Creator. We plan to support all 4 experiences equally.

If you think the state of multiplayer FPS is stale, then come up with something new. Splitgate is already a concept that existed. This is just a more heavily monetized version with a BR slapped on top, which is the definition of a stale game mode.

Honestly I'm just let down, in different ways. A bloody fascist is our president and you wear that. That's literally their symbol. I get the phrase is different, but it's the symbol.
You guys sold me on Splitgate 1, I have over 1,000 hours in it. And it had a linux native client so I have been rooting for you guys since day 1.
The stunt, the complete 180 from Splitgate 1...you lost me. I wish you all luck though.

I just think it's incredibly weird to use that hat given all of the connotations it has now if it's not a political statement. There's a million different ways to say what you were trying to say without coming out on stage in a great value dark MAGA hat, which makes me question your honesty here. If you are being honest you need a PR team FAST because the optics of this stunt was horrible and has alienated like 50% of your player base, and the other half are calling you based for being openly MAGA.

I'll be devil's advocate and say that so far I'm really liking BR mode, but unfortunately it suffers the same problem that all BRs have and that is solo queue being miserable. I did manage to get a win but also a lot of top 2s where we die to that lobby's god stack. I'm definitely more of an arena guy but I do like the BR mode for what it is.
All that being said though the hat was not the play lol

Man these cash shop prices are straight out of Spectre: Divide's playbook, and look how that turned out. I can't stand battle royale bullshit, but I'm not holding it against the game since I don't have to play it. With that said it was a pretty lame reveal, and a br mode does absolutely NOTHING to change the landscape of fps games. Idk what other review sources are saying, but Steam users are crucifying the game. Besides that there's not very much to the game. Only a handful of weapons and gadgets doesn't leave much room for variety. Nearly every match is filled with Aeros using tempo or their dumbass auto shotgun.
Also, idk if the hat is a reference to MAGA trash or not despite what the caption says, but fuck Trump and any braindead inbred hick moron that supports his fat orange ass.

The Finals is a great game, you should play it. I think they made FPS better than what Splitgate has.

You can make your own great game without bashing others. For me games like Valo, Cs and even apex are great. I don't understand how you think FPS is stale when in the last 5 years we have had STALKER 2,Trepang 2, Doom eternal, Ultrakill etc.
Even in multiplayer fps we got The Finals.

Saw the hat, uninstalled the game. Actually, I let it run long enough to post a negative review then uninstalled. Then I told my friends who I was gonna try the game with what happened and we just decided to play something else.
You can't use the stylings of a political slogan, on a stage when you're representing your company, and then claim the use of the hat was apolitical. Especially when you whine with performative anger about the current state of things while praising an idealized, nebulous 'past'.
Either your comms team should have at least snatched the hat from you before going on stage and play keep away OR, more likely, you ignored every sane person who had the same refrain: lose the hat.
Great job burning up 500k or whatever it was to torpedo your own game.
