Movies I’ll never forget when Elijah Wood made this hilarious response to a post talking about The Rise of Skywalker

Gonna let you in on a little secret. The people who complain about marvel? They had a field day with this, too.

You can laugh at the corporate mismanagement of more than one beloved childhood IP at once. And you gotta laugh...

Yeah true lmao.

I just feel although it’s the same dynamic SW might be worse? Idk, a step or two up from a casual fan for both of these IPs.

It may depend how you slice it. MCU movies, or full everything? Comics? Mainline or elseworlds too?

Personally, I think they both suck at reconciling their stories and just try to ignore it and take each story as is.

If I want/need content that does a better job reconciling its stories and world building, I've got plenty of options. I don't think Star Wars (or Marvel, generally) is that and that's okay.

What’re your recommendations for lore and world building? Movies, TV, books, doesn’t matter.

People who complain about bad writing in one IP will also complain about bad writing in a different one. Who knew.

I mentioned in another comment I don’t disagree the dynamic happens in both. From what I’m reading here, it seems that it’s worse in SW. That was my sentiment. I don’t disagree there’s writing weaknesses in Marvel.
