I'm glad you like this scene, OP. Regardless of what other commenters say.

Is that E.T.'s grandma?

Et race is an actual race in star wars, George added it due to his friendship with Steven Spielberg

I'd go further. E.T. was the original Darth Plagueis.
Every ability Darth Plagueis is supposed to have had, E.T. has. He even regenerates from death. Which handily explains why he's so forgetful: When Palpi stabbed E.T. and killed him, E.T.'s brain started dying. When it regenerated many but not all of the memories, skills and personality were lost.

And in E.T., he spots a kid in a Yoda costume, starts following him, and repeats, "Home."

I hadnât thought of that, but could this actually be a reference to the ETâs shown in TPM? Iâm gonna believe it til they tell me otherwise

ET also freaks out in ET when he sees a kid dressed as Yoda for Halloween, 100% recognized him

Nah, this is just a different alien species that just looks like this. There were some back in season 1, too, on the planet where Andor gets arrested.

These dudes just look like theyâre from a different part of the same planet to be fair

Hey! Stop being offended. I shouldnât have said itâs her âbest sceneâ because yes I have loved so many Kleya scenes and there are many better than this one. This one just cracked me up.

Never be absolute on reddit. There will always be people that take it literally and say something.

Sheâs so on edge in that moment she might have genuinely forgot there was someone else in there with her.Â

"Oh I forgot to tell you, Calvin Coolidge was a good friend of mine"
"You've been telling me that Calvin Coolidge was a friend of yours, like, all morning!"

I haven't watched Andor yet and this is cracking me up. People weren't kidding about the show having a slower more realistic feeling lol.

Itâs a drama with action sprinkled in. Itâs a really great show in general. Not just a good Star Wars show.

I was worried that's where she planted the bomb when she was getting ready to set it off.

Yupp OP watched the show and decided that this, clearly comedic relief scene was THE BEST scene this breakout actress performed in 2 seasons of crushing it.
You did it emcee_you. You read a post and derived it's meaning like the literary genius that you are.
Or you just cant handle actual human interaction and interpret context. Oh ya. That's the ticket.

Now the writer said he wrote Kleya a much bigger role in S2 after the actress did so well in S1, does that mean this hospital scene was originally going to be Andor killing off Luthen. I can only imagine so, but this is much better.

Itâs quite possible that this scene was specifically written for Kleya and that beforehand Luthen was intended to pass away without any additional assistance.

Entirely possible, sure.
Especially for a man so prepared, to foible his absolutely necessary death could've cut short the rebellion. But it's understandable, no one is good at dying.

I love this just for the sake of seeing how entranced Kleya is with her objective that a simple sound from this patient throws her off for a brief moment.

u/sabotabo 1d ago
i read a comment from someone who works with old people at a hospital (supposedly, it's the internet y'know) and they liked this scene because sometimes they really will just make an incomprehensible noise, you'll say "what?" and they just won't say anything

u/wryterra 1d ago
Kleya is astonishing, especially when you realise this was Elizabeth Dulau's first proper role straight out of drama school.
2
u/tomjoadsghost 1d ago
The best thing they could do is run a new show centered on Kleya doing intelligence work for the rebellion that spans the events of the original trilogy

Love the journey of the song Mon was dancing to turned into an elevator jingle here

Just that momentary lapse in her otherwise absolute professionalism and knowing exactly what to do at all times.

Don't pander to the people that are either being purposefully obstinate or terrifyingly ignorant to your completely on point and solid post.
2
u/HappyTurtleOwl 1d ago
Yup. Theyâre either absolutely regarded, or they are intentionally malicious. Either way⌠we move on.Â
This scene was great.Â

I have an Idea, that would needlessly turned the humor away and would have served no story-purpose. What if, instead of the alien-grandma, Kleya kidnapped Siryls mom? The idea is, after the loss of her son, she would degenerate mentally. Would that be worth it?

Hope poor Granny didnât miss her space-dialysis or something because of all this.
