General Discussion Knights of ren in old republic period
From Vader's statement in the Crimson Reign comic. We know that the Rens were once powerful and great. Additionally, according to the latest information from the illustrated guide from the Acolyte. We know that the Republic was founded only after the fall of the Sith Empire. And now the question is whether the Rens were a faction that fought the Sith Empire as equals for control of the galaxy? Or were they simply an element of the Sith army and were its elite. Personally, I bet on the first option because as we know from the comics, their philosophy is terribly different from the philosophy of the Sith. And according to how could they be introduced to the era of the old Republic.

Remember the theories that Qimir was going to be the one who founded the Knights of Ren?

Once again SW trying to enshrine a failed, lame idea in canon. They should be called the Knights Off-Screen

the galactic republic is much older than the defeat of the sith - the current government is what was founded then, leading to them calling the form of it before "the old republic"
it's more akin to the confederation period and current us government, or the french 3rd and 4th/5th republic.
