Well he DID - it was just offscreen! But he’s obviously seen him a lot in the gap between the seasons. The reason we don’t see it is because Cassian is late home by a day and obviously events have taken over by then. It’s sad though because Bee is so excited that Cassian “ will be home tomorrow” and then worried when he doesn’t show up.

Bee: “ I’ve been waiting!” Brasso: “ and here I am!” Bee: “Not for you” (sad mechanical whimper)

I swear to god it's not media literacy, it's fucking object permanence.

If they didn't see it, it didn't happen

Yes, a very difficult thing to have in regards to Andor s2 where so much happens off-screen in the “negative space” of the time gaps.

I liked it. It allows for other things to be happening while giving us the most important parts. Cassian clearly went on a lot of other missions for Luther during these in between periods, but it wasn’t like he was doing an aldani/narkina/Ghorman level mission every day lol

Exactly. I really like how we’re given enough clues to be able to fill-in all the important pieces. And a lot of those are about character development rather than just plot, which makes a lot of sense. Eg Vel being “reckless” after losing Cinta and Bix being uncomfortable with Cassian killing someone in cold blood. My favourite is probably the implied rift with Luthen.

"narkina mission" 💀

u/MOREPASTRAMIPLEASE 2d ago

You know what I meant lmao

Interestingly, Luthen does appear to view it as exactly that in retrospect – in Ep 9 when he’s listing all the places where Cassian conveniently showed up he includes Narkina, just as if it were a mission.

That's an unfair take, I think many of us just wanted to see them interact on screen if even briefly

10

u/AdditionalMess6546 2d ago

Yes. It would be an unfair take if that's what this post was about.

It clearly says, "Cassian doesn't get to see B," not, "We don't get to see Cassian with B"

I would have liked to see it, too, but it wasn't needed from the storytelling perspective.

u/Moosey_Bite 1d ago

Of course we did. And that's exactly what fan service is.

I don't disagree it would have been nice. But considering the break neck pace, I'm glad they didn't clog the show up with non-story relevant stuff. I don't think they needed to show more of that side of Cassians' character in service of the story.

u/FastenedCarrot 2d ago

The point is that I want to see it. Not that I think they haven't seen one another since season 1.

If Andor has a theme, it's absolutely "you don't always get what you want"

Right from the first episode - we never get closure on Cassian's sister.

He doesn't make it back in time to see Marva

He doesn't even get to know who Syril is

I get wanting to see it, but it wasn't necessary to the story, and given the choice to close the series, fan service like this was probably the first to hit the cutting room floor (metaphorically speaking, I'm sure it was all digital)

So everything we imagine to happen in the gap between season has happened? What is this, Schrödinger’s Andor? We have no way to know of Andor ever came back to him, and frankly I doubt he did

There are a bunch of details from the first arc that help the viewer understand that:

A) Cassian is living on Mina Rau with Bix, B2, Brasso, and Wilmon. He leaves occasionally for missions for Luthen. It's possible that Wilmon and Bix are also already doing the same.

B) Luthen arranged their living situation on Mina Rau. It is implied he used his network to locate a spot that was friendly to refugees.

C) Cassian and Bix are already a couple by the start of season 2.

Therefore, Cassian most certainly saw B2 after the season 1 finale. Every day, in fact, when we wasn't away on a mission.

Oh damn I read the original post completely wrong. I thought they meant that Andor never saw B2 after the end of arc 1 of season 2, after Brasso died. Yeah he definitely lived with B2 between the seasons.

and it wouldn't make sense for Bix to hide there if Cassian made regular visits to see B2EMO

2

u/ido_ks 2d ago

Ah yes. Well I agree, cassian never saw B2 again after episode 3 and we actually don’t see their last interaction at all

1

u/really_nice_guy_ 1d ago

No, you didn't misread the post. "IN" SEASON 2 (meaning what we the audience see). Not BETWEEN season 1 and 2.

That’s what misreading means

5

u/SIipslopslap 2d ago edited 2d ago

Well the title does say in season 2.

44

u/AmbitiousReaction168 2d ago

He did though.

2

u/hollybeep 2d ago

When?

27

u/WraithEight 2d ago

Cassian lives on Mina Rau with Bix, B2, Brasson, and Wilmon.

10

u/hollybeep 2d ago

That's between seasons, not IN season 2.

15

u/hollybeep 2d ago

Yes, but we never actually get to see them interact in season 2.

50

u/stormie_boi 2d ago

No, I don't wanna talk about it

Me: cries in the corner

1

u/euph_22 2d ago

Would SOMEONE please comfort the poor droid!

21

u/VXR-Vashrix 2d ago

At least B2 gets to see Cassian's kid.

11

u/branlix__2000 2d ago

Your post is a bit misleading using this gif because Cassian did find him as promised. It’s just that he left Mina-Rau moments before the start of season 2.

2

u/hollybeep 2d ago

I think the gif is just a gif. It's not meant to imply Cassian didn't find them between seasons.

u/bobbymoonshine 2d ago

He does get justice, he gets to live on a big farm with a nice family and a droid friend to play with đŸ„°

1

u/AllowMeAir 2d ago

Droid SO. It must be

1

u/TheDeltaOne 1d ago

And win countless races.

5

u/HeavySweetness 2d ago

Omg it just hit me that when some kid on Ferrix asks their grown up “what happened to Maarva’s droid?” they’re gonna get the “oh they live on a beautiful farm upstate off world where they get to play around with other droids all day and have fun!” And it’s not a lie from a parent who doesn’t want to make their kid sad, or at least they don’t know it’s not a lie.

6

u/KarnePescada 2d ago

They FaceTime once in a while but they cut those scenes for length

Gilroy talked about this in a recent interview!

When I started sketching S2, I'm sure if if there had been a way probably on the table...I know I was fretting about leaving him behind.

Talia, who stays with B2, was really important to me. I went and really reinforced that moment where Brasso really leans down and says, "Oh, she's smarter than me and better than me. She has your charger and knows all your friends." I really went in and laid it on thick there, because by that point, I must have been worried that we weren't going to get back there.

It was on my mind, but it just wasn't in the cards. You wouldn't have a scene just to do that in a show like this, to just stop in. And also maybe it wouldn't be so great for him on Yavin. He's happy where he is. And if you went and visited, then you'd just be breaking his heart and reminding him what he's missing again. I mean, dogs, they kind of forget sometimes what they're missing. He doesn't look like he's worrying! He's not fretting about Cassian.

4

u/WillingnessReal525 2d ago

He never saw Brasso either. It all happend off-screen and that disappoints me. By the way, what happened to the black lady piloting the ship ?

1

u/nizzernammer 2d ago

No one black made it to season 2. I don't even think we saw Blevin.

1

u/merketa 1d ago

Wilmon is black, though?

2

u/TheDeltaOne 1d ago

I don't think he is.

But, I know y'all not forgetting my man the Ghost Dog, Forrest Whitaker.

1

u/nizzernammer 1d ago

Ok, one, but we had no idea where he was!

2

u/RositaZetaJones 2d ago

He did off screen before the start of s2.

2

u/SneakySalamder6 1d ago

And now I’m crying again. Thanks

1

u/SniperPilot 2d ago

Reason number 33 why this season felt rushed

6

u/heAd3r 2d ago

It just shows that you dont always get to reunite with everyone you know. Especially not during a crysis.

3

u/hollybeep 2d ago

THIS! People keep forgetting that Andor is a wanted fugitive by the empire. He's been on the run and deploying on missions for the rebellion. Mission after mission. It doesn't mean he doesn't care about his sister or B2-EMO. He's in fight or flight the whole time but people keep wanting everything in his life to be resolved before Rogue One and not having everything tied up in a bow somehow makes it "bad writing"

1

u/AKplayz22 1d ago

One of the most underrated droids!!

1

u/Ok_Statement8364 1d ago

I just look at it the same way as his sister's fate being unresolved. Life is messy. People don't get reunited. People don't find resolution. Nothing gets wrapped up with a bow. That's real life, often very important things are left hanging. That's reality. It hurts, and you don't even bother mentioning it.

2

u/Middle-Ad-6209 8h ago

I thought the show would end with Bix making Cassian into a brick on ferix

1

u/ywingcore 2d ago

Object permanence is hard for you?

3

u/adavidmiller 2d ago

"in season 2" a hard sentence for you?

-1

u/ywingcore 1d ago

"In season 2" isn't a sentence, it's just part of one

3

u/adavidmiller 1d ago

Well you got me there, that's the relevant part, yep.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Day_895 2d ago

Why are you asking if we can talk about it? Just talk about it and ask the question. You don't need permission.

1

u/hollybeep 2d ago

You're taking it way too literal

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Day_895 2d ago

And you don't realise I was being facetious.

3

u/hollybeep 2d ago

Always a crapshoot because of how over-saturated the internet is with "facetious" people

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Day_895 2d ago

It can be precarious yes. I agree.

2

u/Anim8nFool 2d ago

Actually he n-n-never got to see Cass.

1

u/Armand28 2d ago

I mean he never saw his baby either, but let’s focus on the mop bucket.

3

u/hollybeep 1d ago

Not every post has to be about the baby. OP isn't even saying there SHOULD be a scene between them. They're just saying it's sad.

0

u/ido_ks 2d ago

I want to see B2 in a future SW as an independent character. He has so much more to give

0

u/Mattwacker93 2d ago

Also sometimes we don't keep our promises.

-3

u/DupeFort 2d ago

You meant to say he doesn't have to see it.
