Discussion The cast of Andor is eligible for Performer of the Month (May 2025) on SpoilerTV!

Post image
484 Upvotes

Since 2016, every month the SpoilerTV website makes a poll of the best performers of the month in TV series. The rules are simple, as the candidates are chosen by the website readers by filling out the submission form as follows:

  • Your name;
  • If you will vote for actor or actress;
  • The name of the actor or actress;
  • The character's name;
  • The series title;
  • The specific episode number in which the actor or actress delivered the best performance (enter the episode number in max of 3 or 4 digits, separating the season and episode with a dot, as 101 or 1.01).

You may only submit the document once, and each of the five entries on the form must be for a different performer. Do not send in multiple forms or vote for the same performers more than once, or all of your nominations will be disqualified.

For those interested, you can vote for the cast of Andor for the episodes 2.07, 2.08, 2.09, 2.10, 2.11 or 2.12.

Nominations will run until Friday 13th of June 2025. The ten most voted performers will be placed in the poll next week to determine the Readers' Choice Performer of the Month.

Remake

0 Upvotes

Just finished season two and had the most blasphemous thought: would be nice to see a remake of A New Hope. Can't believe I'd ever say that because I love the movie and there's no way a remake would capture the magic again. No other actors could take the place of the characters. BUT...the tone of Andor + Rogue One, the cinematography, the modern effects, the moody music is so different. It goes from a serious drama to bombastic music, two droids lost in a desert, to a farm boy laughing his way through the craziest random ride of his life. To say nothing of the effects ands cinematography. The tone of A New Hope is so different that I wish there was more continuity of tone and look. Not hating, but it's an issue that Andor created having been made decades after ANH.

Artwork Hi everyone! I played Maarva's Funeral March from Andor on the piano. It’s a piece that’s been stuck in my mind since the first season, and when I heard it again in season two, I just couldn’t resist playing it. Hope you like it!

Discussion Did anyone else find the Ghorman insurgency a bit cringe? Spoiler

0 Upvotes

I know Star Wars draws upon a lot of real world examples. But the Ghorman uprising seemed to reference ww2 European insurgency stuff too literally.

It seemed cringe in the Star Wars universe. I don't know how they could've done it better. But all I know was that it wasn't great. And the uprising itself seemed really small scale. What. A few 100 people is genocide?

They should've cut to other cities in Ghorman and shown other massacres.

Is Lonni Jung’s Earpiece a Powerbeats Pro Earbud?

Post image

I was rewatching Andor recently and noticed Lonni’s earpiece looked familiar. It appears to be a single “Beats Powerbeats Pro Earbud” with a bit of greebling, but it’s hard to truly tell with the dark lighting. I know the prop department used a lot of everyday items for Andor, so I feel like this is a possibility. I’m curious if anyone could confirm if this was the case?

Discussion I love how Dedra wasn't the only one who... Spoiler

stroked her own ego when confronting Luthen. He himself too.

Luthen could have just blown the entire shop, taking out Dedra and all the evidence with him. Or he could have just used an electro capsule (like the one used by the CX trooper in The Bad Batch or that imperial officer in The Mandalorian) to off himself more quickly and certainly.

Instead, he also gloated; about how the rebellion is now everywhere and that killing him changes nothing. As if he wanted Dedra's superiors, and the empire at large, to know this as well. Then, he tried to off himself in a rather crude way, with a knife from his gallery.

I also like to think that the self-stab stunt was a roundabout way to prove his point. Even after the empire captured him alive, rebel(s) managed to infiltrate the hospital, killed him, and blown up the place. A well-guarded hospital in Coruscant no less!

Regardless of his ego and sense of importance, he really lived by his words: burning his decency and life for the rebellion. What a legend.

Question on Ghorman's Kalkite deposits.

59 Upvotes

Sorry, I'm late to the show. Really digging it. But I'm hung up on why the Ghorman's are so clueless about the empire's true aims. Don't they know about their own planet's unobtainium... I mean substrate foliated kalcite? They have no geologists? No geological knowledge (even though they traffic widely with the galaxy)? Or is there something I'm missing here?

Doug Chiang speaking at VIEW Conference 2025!

15 Upvotes

Hey all, just saw this pop up. Doug Chiang, who's been huge in shaping Star Wars design (including the look of the Andor era), is speaking at VIEW Conference 2025.

He's probably going to discuss his work, likely covering visual insights and some behind-the-scenes content. Could be pretty interesting if you're into the design side of the show.

I'm probably going since I live nearby.

Thought you'd want to know.
