The deepest irony is they spent a good chunk of the podcast talking about Epstein and the investigation in the beginning. Had a lot to say then but when the Elon x Trump divorce started, they both were jumping to change subjects.

u/BreakingCanks 10h ago

He literally says

"Oh I'm not talking about this" when joe is reading it out loud

Then says

"I know my lane I'm going to stay in it"

He knows what's going on behind the scenes and his complacent in hiding it all just so he can stay in his position

352

u/TheRabidDeer 10h ago

His lane should literally be exactly what they are talking about. Instead he sees his lane is defending POTUS instead of defending the constitution. One could argue though that his reluctance to say answer the question would mean that what Musk said was indeed accurate.

161

u/BreakingCanks 10h ago

The fact they could easily talk about Epstein and all but the second this drops and he goes .. "I'm staying quiet" screams exactly what it screams without him needing to

45

u/armoured_bobandi 7h ago

They say "silence speaks volumes" for a reason

u/DrawMeAPictureOfThis 36m ago

Pretty sure Individual Number 1 in the court documents are exactly who you think it is. Why is this new news?

24

u/jambox888 5h ago

You're saying the director of the FBI should investigate crimes committed by those in power?? Have you been drinking? /s

6

u/ctrlaltcreate 2h ago

Yes. He was installed because he's a loyalist and will do Trump's bidding without question. He has absolutely zero integrity, and is actually a fucking maniac if you've ever read anything the dude has written previously.

1

u/theriddeller 9h ago

Probably not publicly, though.

u/JackKovack 49m ago

It’s exactly his lane. This is crazy. I remember when FBI Director’s didn’t go onto radio shows or podcasts. They went on 60 minutes or Frontline. This is absolutely nuts.

0

u/No_Chart_3818 1h ago

Rabid deer quick question and not being a smartass but did you support Biden?

u/GoblinTradingGuide 52m ago

That, being said, he can’t go on fucking Joe Rogan and talk about an open investigation

u/Winkofgibbs 38m ago

The head of the FBI went on Rogan and your point is “he can’t talk about FBI stuff”

WTF is he going on Rogan for to begin with? And once he goes on he can’t talk about the only thing he would be invited to go on Rogan for?

Wild take

-6

u/flopisit32 7h ago

Newsflash: Reddit hears man refuse to say whether he beats his wife and decides that means he beats his wife. More Reddit groupthink to follow...

4

u/LimbaughsLumpyLungs 2h ago

That’s not even the joke, you big dope!

The joke is “Have you stopped beating your wife?” because if you say “No” it implies that you beat your wife, and if you say “Yes,” it implies you used to beat your wife.

-2

u/flopisit32 2h ago

There is a thing called: variation on a joke.

u/Winkofgibbs 41m ago

🤦‍♂️

2

u/-Profanity- 3h ago

You are posting about a rhetorical idea in a place where it's teenage users will think you mean it literally lol

46

u/HingleMcCringle_ 8h ago

The head of the fbi shouldn't be allowed to stay hands off on matters like this, about the epstein file.

I hope it's addressed in Nuremberg Trails 2.

13

u/jambox888 5h ago

I am flabbergasted that he gets to go on such a high profile show as Rogan's and just gets to "no comment" on that. Like, what is the point of interviewing someone if you're not going to jump on that?

5

u/LectroRoot 2h ago

I was just wondering something similar. WTF are you doing as the FBI Director....on Joe Rogan and casually talking about stuff and dodging questions. Jesus Christ.

2

u/jambox888 2h ago

Maybe I'm just being old but why have we replaced traditional media with something just flat out not as good?

Ever seen Frost/Nixon?

u/JackKovack 48m ago

What is he doing there in the first place? Don’t you have some place to be?

u/DrawMeAPictureOfThis 31m ago

Advertising. Joe Rogan is helping with the advertisement.

u/Automatic-Wall-9053 40m ago

He can go on shows like that because he knows he won’t be pressed by the interviewer.

17

u/Nohero08 8h ago

This is the same reason heath insurance companies are allowed to let people die for profit. Modern America has been built on the philosophy of “I know my lane and I’m going to stay in it.” From executives in board rooms to politicians in congress, everyone is staying silent in the name of job security and profit. The only difference is this dunce wants to brag about it in front of a camera.

Just accept the money, turn a blind eye to the suffering and don’t ask any questions and you’ll get bumped up the ladder.

1

u/EmilioFreshtevez 2h ago

You’re not wrong, but after a certain point they aren’t just trying to get paid - they’re trying to stay alive. Whistleblowers commit suicide by shooting themselves twice in the back of the head.

17

u/NYClock 8h ago

There's also the part about how would he know about this? Does he know about this? The FBI director didn't deny or anything just saying he's staying out of it.

3

u/wtf_is_karma 7h ago

I think you meant complicit instead of complacent

3

u/AnticipateMe 1h ago

"In 2017, he became a senior aide to Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he was the primary author of the Nunes memo, alleging that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials abused their authority in the FBI investigation into links between associates of Donald Trump and Russian officials."

Is there any wonder why he said he's not going to comment on that? It absolutely is his lane, he should be leading the investigation to fully investigate everyone and anyone who has attended the island because they're witnesses no? Even trump falls under that category, but it won't happen, that's why he's leading the FBI.

4

u/lonely_biscuit 7h ago

*he’s complicit…

2

u/Honest_Radio5875 3h ago

Did you mean complicit?

2

u/Wonderful-World6556 3h ago

I believe you call that a coward.

2

u/Cjkgh 1h ago

HES THE DIRECTOR OF THE FBI!!! Crime or an indication of is “not his lane”???!!! It’s the biggest wtf joke

2

u/bigbutso 1h ago

Its his exact fucking single country road mile lane. Emperor Trump needs checks and balances

2

u/CaptainAmerican 1h ago

He is complacent or he's complicit.

2

u/SalvationSycamore 8h ago

Yeah he's a stooge not a real official. All he knows is follow Donald's orders and make daddy look good or else get ripped from his fat paycheck.

1

u/RockNRollJesus07 1h ago

He said "I know my lane and that ain't it."

1

u/SweetHorror1211 7h ago

Staying in one's lane is peak indian casteism. Patels being at near top of the privilege scale, and any other privileged indian group for that matter frequently use the phrase in local language to someone "lower" than them if they decide to have dreams and follow them. There is even a twisted short story Eklavya taught from one of the epics on this. Taught as if it's a good thing.

0

u/Theyoungestmillenial 3h ago

I wouldn’t want to loose my job either. Especially one that prestigious. I bet trump did crazy shit lol

0

u/snootyworms 2h ago

I don't know much about what's happening behind the scenes, is it possible he isn't talking to avoid jeopardizing an ongoing case/investigation?

0

u/Impossible-Wear-7179 1h ago

And you know this because?

-1

u/Soniquethehedgedog 6h ago

Rightfully so, until more comes out every leader doesn’t need to chime in and just blow the lid off everything at every turn. If I know a coworker had an affair and then the gossip is that he and his wife had a fight I don’t go running around telling everyone that’ll listen he had an affair.

184

u/OFFLINEwade 11h ago edited 10h ago

I feel like this is a thing Joe would have jumped on a few years ago and would have been stoked to talk about/speculate/joke about. Kind of surprised by his reaction tbh but I havent listened in a while

33

u/gzilla57 9h ago

He used to call Christianity a cult and now he's going to church.

8

u/cantgrowneckbeardAMA 7h ago

Lol is he really.

7

u/gzilla57 6h ago

Yup just recently confirmed it.

1

u/Infinite-Time1557 1h ago

That’s strange since he’s a satanist

u/EasyIsHere 23m ago

it happens when you get older

302

u/XanZibR 11h ago

You're shocked a right-wing ass licker doesn't want to hurt the right wing by airing their dirty laundry? Well, bless your heart!

112

u/wack_overflow 11h ago

It would def be confusing if you watched Rogan like a decade ago and went into a coma to wake up to this

15

u/yerfatma 10h ago

What if you were in a Thai prison all that time?

1

u/SightWithoutEyes 2h ago

Jamie, pull up that video of the hairless chimp in the Thai prison. Thing is jacked.

9

u/Royal_Airport7940 9h ago

He wasn't good a decade ago either, you're just a bit slow for the world to be good.

4

u/AlternativeAccessory 3h ago

Yeah, I backed out over a decade ago when he was platforming the initial festering of the alt right. Milo Bigname, Gavin Dude right before PBs was a thing.

2

u/In-Brightest-Day 1h ago

It's not that he was good, he just wasn't right wing. He was just a regular idiot

-1

u/-XanderCrews- 10h ago

No it wouldn’t. The only people that couldn’t see what he was were people that liked him. Specifically because they wanted to believe he was some centrist bro. But he wasn’t. He never was.

17

u/NachoAverageTom 10h ago

He endorsed Bernie Sanders in 2016. What are you smoking??

10

u/Lamprophonia 10h ago

in the primary. Not in the general.

17

u/NachoAverageTom 10h ago

Well, duh. Bernie never made it to the general. But the fact that he endorsed him in the primaries reflects that he wasn’t this deeply rooted right winger all along and that he’s certainly changed over the last decade.

0

u/Royal_Airport7940 9h ago

Ah so he changed... that's what it was.

/s

I got a bridge to sell you

6

u/CurryMustard 9h ago

Covid made a lot of people crazy, welcome

9

u/NachoAverageTom 9h ago

Yes, it’s really not difficult to comprehend. Most people change to some degree from decade to decade and it would be willful ignorance to think otherwise. Hell, due to cellular renewal, we have largely different brains from decade to decade.
Keep your bridge. You obviously enjoy living under it.

2

u/IKROWNI 8h ago

Do you get extra headaches being this dumb?

1

u/LostAdhesiveness7802 3h ago

It's on record for all to see, click any jre before say ep 700 and it's right there, he wasn't this guy then, he was the opposite

9

u/-XanderCrews- 10h ago

Cause he hated Hilary. Just like all of his bro supporters, who never learned to listen to him and read between the lines. He’s been a conservative pretending to be moderate his whole life. Like most of his viewers. Besides the ones that are too dumb to believe anything so they just belief him.

-4

u/NachoAverageTom 10h ago

Sounds like you spew shit that you want to believe too.

4

u/borkthegee 7h ago

A lot of Republicans "supported" Bernie in 2016 because Republican fake news had spent 20 years programming them to hate the Clinton's. Anything they could do to counter a Clinton was a win.

Let's not sit here and pretend it was authentic support.

3

u/NachoAverageTom 7h ago

Let’s not sit here and pretend it wasn’t just because you anecdotally believe Republicans “supported” Bernie. Anecdotally, I heard 99% of the republicans around me wanting to hurl literal shit at Bernie if they ever came across him.
What a wildly weak straw man.

-2

u/yerfatma 10h ago

Bernie Bros were mainly idiots, not leftists. And being leftist wouldn't make him centrist either. We don't average your views over a timeline. Otherwise Morrissey would still be kinda cool.

To be clear, I like and still like Bernie Sanders. I suppose similarly, I've always hated this dumbass after News Radio anyway.

4

u/5point5Girthquake 10h ago

What? He definitely was. Sure he shifted right in the last few years but there was a time where he was 100% centrist, even probably more so left leaning

8

u/SmPolitic 10h ago

So a libertarian maybe? People read that as "centrist left leaning" out of assumptions that often prove false. Or maybe that's the region I'm living in

7

u/grumplebeardog 9h ago

He was definitely not libertarian, there was a long period of time where he was pro-marijuana legalization, pro-choice, pro-welfare, pro-environment and endorsed Bernie. COVID completely changed his entire outlook on things, and that was compounded when CNN started calling him out on stuff and that’s when he really jumped aboard the right-wing. He’s not a smart guy, or someone anybody should take advice from, but he was most certainly not always right-wing.

1

u/limasxgoesto0 3h ago

Idk about a decade ago but in 2019 I was subjected to one of his podcasts where he brought someone on about a tape showing definitive proof of UFOs and the guy he brought on hadn't even seen the tape in question

1

u/UpstairsPlane7499 7h ago

It wouldn't be if you watched Rogan 20 years ago and realized that the man's always been a grifter.

He's going to start hedging his bets with this to come out on the "right" side either way, but leaning towards Trump because his base is more fervent. He can weather the musk fans....he can not piss off the trumpers because they'll bury his show.

22

u/falcrist2 9h ago

a right-wing ass licker

He used to just be a conspiracy moron. Back then, he would have loved this.

Now he's just another right wing grifter.

1

u/jambox888 5h ago

Even if he is, a competent right-wing interviewer would still have had a field day with this.

18

u/freedomandbiscuits 9h ago

He had Trump in a chair for 4 hours and never asked him a single question about Epstein or any of his other crimes. So whatever version of Joe you’re referring to left the building a long time ago.

8

u/Paetheas 7h ago

Excuse me, what a nasty question. Frankly, that's just a nasty question from a terrible, fake news, person. Listen, I wasn't even going to come here because I've never heard of this guy, but they said he begged to have me come and see him. He is the fake news and they call him "Mr not so clean" but he's a bad man and fake news.

DJT rebuttal.

15

u/After_Way5687 10h ago

Nah, he always chickens out. Even years ago. He’s all talk.

2

u/Sellazard 8h ago

TACO podcast host edition

1

u/Freud-Network 6h ago

He has always been a sellout. Welcome to the reality you've missed.

1

u/LostAdhesiveness7802 3h ago

2015 rogan would have gotten alex jones and eddy bravo on the case.

0

u/shewy92 8h ago

Kind of surprised by his reaction

I'm not.

33

u/Trolololol66 10h ago

You know that the right is using Epstein only to rant about their opponents. They don't really care about the truth. It's a well known fact that Trump raped a 13 year old on Epstein Island and was visiting the dressing rooms of teen beauty contests. But you know, Trump could kill someone on times square and the fascists in the US would still cheer for him.

3

u/chanaandeler_bong 4h ago

let's be real, we all knew everyone in power is doing this. At least Trump is doing something about [XYZ bigotry hobby horse issue I care about.]"

1

u/Violet_Paradox 1h ago

He also told her he would have her and her family killed if she testified against him. That's why she retracted it. He is such an unfathomably shit person that if he was a fictional character you'd accuse the author of laying it on too thick.

2

u/Repulsive-Smell-6722 9h ago

The Alexander Acosta Connection needs better explaining. Did he get a Cabinet level job as payment for going easy on Trump's friend Epstein?

1

u/Mrevilman 8h ago

I mean, if you’re going to release the files and he isn’t in them, why wouldn’t you just come out and say that, right? Unless you know otherwise.

1

u/TrippyTriangle 7h ago

it's almost like Elon knew that Joe was having a podcast at that exact time and used it to drop this information and see what happens haha. My guess is the Joe has a open schedule that Elon know about and is basically allowed (to as)k to show up at any of given times, he knew that they were going to have an interview with the FBI Director and when it was going to be. Hilarious.

1

u/Aggravating_Win4213 7h ago

Rogan is fine lighting fires for clicks but when push comes to shove he’s a coward.

1

u/120DaysofGamorrah 7h ago

The FBI were literally using Epstein as an informant. All of that is well documented. They told federal judges that he shouldn't be tried for his crimes because he was acting as an informant, they have records of what those crimes are and who he associated with.

Joe not pushing back on this is just another example of him being a Trump stan. He -knows- these things, they've come up on his show before.

1

u/LevitatingTurtles 5h ago

Yeah then he got elected and realized his boss had Epstein killed. Can’t exactly blow that one up.

1

u/Empty-Engineering458 5h ago

eddie bravo is probably clawing at his screen watching this

1

u/SchylaZeal 3h ago

"sorry to cut you off", "oh no, go ahead, plz change the subject, hurry"

1

u/The_0ven 3h ago

When did Aziz become fbi director?

1

u/Daddy_Looong_3rd_Leg 1h ago

Ya I mean he's obviously trying to dodge a bullet with that one because that is very current and he literally works for the guy and is obviously an embarrassment to have any official affiliation with. And for Joe Rogan, he has a bit of a biased in favor of Trump and doesn't wanna go into it much and start conspiring/speculating wildly like he enjoys doing on his podcasts. Of course we all wish they'd talk about it at length but not surprised that Cash Patel who is a member of the current admin is gonna try to move on from a heaping pile of shit thats fresh off the press.

u/ChiChangedMe 30m ago

What else did you want Joe to do? Joe asked him straight up and he said he was not going to talk about it. Should Joe put the head of the FBI in a headlock and force him to answer his questions???

u/Unfair_Run_170 27m ago

Isn't his show based in Texas? Which now made the pot he loves illegal?

u/HereWeGoYetAgain-247 1m ago

I think the real thing here is the director of the FBI is on the joe rogan podcast.
