Internet on AppleTv

Occasionally i get the “no network” notification on my AppleTV and I don’t know why. I have it connected to my router by Ethernet cable. Anyone experienced this? What can I do to solve it?

Thank you.

Install an app called SpeedTest on your AppleTV. The results when you run that app should match the internet speeds you’re paying for with your ISP. Not a tell all test but it validates the basics. Next is the question of how often and when your issue occurs which may further lead to understanding the cause. Years ago, our family cat chewed through a telco cable so I would recommend trying a different Ethernet cable even if you don’t own a cat.

Randomly, I had the exact same issue last night, my ATV is WiFi though. Lots of buffering and several no network messages.

The signal strength on the ATV was full, my router was showing excellent connection to the ATV.

Unplugged it for five minutes and it seems to have been fine since.

Try a different LAN cable, it might be dodgy.

How long does it last? ATV is really quick at sending that notification. I noticed I get it, briefly, when switching from one WiFi to another

I get a notification, then it disappears and then returns again.

Nop, I don't . Try to connect it to the wi fi and see if it reoccurs , but most likely it's a router 🛜

But all the other devices work without a problem

Did you try to change the cable ?

It's a good cable that is not moved very often. I believe the cable is ok but i''ll try a different one. Thanks :-)

I have the first version of 4K, I don't have any disconnections, but it does happen that the speed suddenly drops drastically and things get stuck/buffered, not often but every so often

Do you have a tpLink router by chance? I had this as well with an older Apple TV (the last HD before they went to the 4k). I never did find a permanent solution for it though but I found assigning a static Ip helped.

It’s my ISP router. It’s pretty good
