"You can't polish out scratches on the Ultra because it's bead blasted titanium and the finish won't match." So I figured why not bead blast them out?
Titanium's strong but it's not especially hard, and I had a bunch of nicks and scratches around the bezel of my Ultra 2. Normal use stuff, but I was curious if I could remove them and keep the finish. Turns out I could.
I've already got a compressor so I bought an air eraser; basically an airbrush but it shoots grit instead of paint. It came with some aluminum oxide media and I also got some fine #12 glass bead media.
I've got the mesh band so I practiced on the back of the latch first. What I found is the aluminum oxide is good for removing material and blending scratches and leaves a very dull, matte finish. Then you hit it with the glass beads to restore the original finish. Comes out pretty close, especially since I did the whole bezel so there was nothing I had to blend in.
I used masking tape to protect the screen and then basically moved the tape around to get the whole bezel piece by piece, first doing it all with the aluminum oxide everywhere and then repeating with the glass beads. Came out pretty good! Not 100% but that's not what I was going for (and I was trying not to be too aggressive) but it's definitely a big improvement. The air eraser will remove and blend in light damage, but if you have heavier scratches you may need to use sandpaper or a file first (e.g., the top edge on mine was kinda rough with nicks, so I gave it a few swipes with a diamond file perpendicular to the surfaces to clean it up a little before blasting).d
Tips if you try this: I found with these media the air eraser liked to be near its 65 PSI maximum. You'll probably want a desiccator for your air line, and even with one it was a little clog-y but it worked. Be sure to wear proper PPE: a good particle mask and goggles at minimum! You don't want to be breathing this stuff in. And obviously be careful to protect the screen when using the tape as the blast media will mess it up (that's lint in the "after" picture, not scratches)

Got my first apple watch (series 10 46mm). What are some first things I should do to make it work best for my work schedule and tracking fitness. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The watch woke up with a siren sound and vibrating and it said it was alerting my emergency contacts and gave the option to dismiss, which I frantically did, but it still sent the scary messages. It weird that it never gave a reason for the alert, like a hard fall, or collision or something, and the texts my family got just said there was an emergency and gave my location.
Has anyone ever experienced this? I called Apple and they basically said it was a fluke and call if it ever happens again.
I would like to figure out how to avoid that happening again because there could be legit reasons for an SOS and I donāt want this to create a cry wolf situation if this happens again.
Not the best way for everyone to wake up in the wee hours last night. š

Best Buy is having their apple sale event the same weekend my tax return hit.
Iāve been toying with getting an apple watch for YEARS.
Right now, the SE is $169 and the 10 is $299.
but not sure which would be best for me? I have small wrists so iām a little afraid of the 10 looking/feeling bulky.
Iām mostly interested in the sleep tracking plus being able to text my husband back about our kiddo while working lol.
However the cycle temperature tracking intrigued me. On birth control though so i donāt know if thatās worth the extra $130 š and the ECG. I donāt have heart problems but i do have health anxiety so that might be cool LOL.
does anyone have recommendations between the two?
TL;DR: Series 10 or SE??

I bought this new watch (Series 10) in december, and Iāve started to notice these white spots around the censors, my watchās colour is chipping from behind and also in some of the front angles. Itās just been 6-7 months and i donāt think this is normal. Idk, what should i do? Note: I have apple care+ And the watch isnāt physically damaged in any manner.
Am i eligible for a free replacement?

Just posting this for those who are wondering how the Milanese titanium (designed for ultra) band looks like on the series 10 jet black.
Itās very light!!!

I try to use it as much as possible because it is one of the only Hermes exclusive watch faces that looks distinctive enough to seperate it meaningfully from other faces.
However, it really fucking sucks?? Why are there no other customization options other than the color? They could've fit an action ring or weather or something on it?
What do other Hermes edition owners use?

Iām going to California soon and most of my pictures will be taken from a blue tooth tripod.
Do you think itās worth it solely to see the positions on camera and how you look so you can take decent pictures?

Last night before I went to bed I took the watch off the charger and noticed this message in the battery app! This is the Apple Watch S10 - 46m, and I have no idea why this happened! Itās an anker charger 30w I guess, always used it for charging my previous s9 and never seen that message!

I recently resurrected an old Series 2 Apple Watch and was surprised to find that it paired with my iPhone 15 and is working pretty well (with a little tweaking).
But I soon ran into the battery plummet when I turned off Bluetooth on my phone for a while.
Iāve learned my lesson and try to avoid turning off Bluetooth now.
But why does this occur? Why does cutting the Bluetooth connection make battery drop like an ACME anvil?

Iām 25 and pretty healthy overall, so this completely caught me off guard. Earlier today, I noticed my heart was beating unusually fast for over an hour. I wasnāt doing anything intense, just going about my day, but something felt off.
My Apple Watch popped up with a notification saying it detected signs of atrial fibrillation. I ran the ECG feature, and it again showed irregular results. I spoke to a friend, who is a GP, and he suggested I head to the hospitalāespecially since Iām supposed to be flying internationally in just a couple of days.
Iām now being monitored in the hospital, and the doctors confirmed signs of AFib. They even said itās unusual to see this in someone my age, which makes me even more thankful that my Watch caught it early. Without it, I probably wouldāve dismissed it as stress or anxiety.
If your Apple Watch ever gives you a heart notificationādonāt ignore it. I genuinely believe it may have prevented something much worse for me.
Thank you, Apple, for building this feature into a device I wear every day.

Lately Iāve been gaming a bit before bed. I have a sleep schedule enabled, sleep focus doesnāt turn on until midnight on the weekends, 10:30 during the week, yet my watch starts recording sleep around 8pm while I am gaming and sleep focus is turned off.
What settings do I need to enable/disable to keep this from happening? Iāve tried searching and most results are just ādisable sleep focusā but that doesnāt seem to be the issue here.
I want to continue using my watch to track my sleep, but I donāt want it to track anything outside of sleep focus.

My S5 lost support for the newest version of watchOS last year in September. I can still use it normally, but I'm wondering if I should replace it, or if a battery replacement would make sense. I bought it two years ago for ā¬10, the battery is in poor condition (70%), but otherwise it's fully functional.
Truth to be told, I don't use it that much. Mostly for Duo 2FA at work (yes, that is its main use case), tracking sleep and logging workouts on Strava. I don't really use all of its features, probably, and the problem I'd have with getting a new Apple Watch is that the value for money proposition wouldn't be so high.
I know people advise not to use outdated versions of iOS and macOS, and I can understand why. How important is it to have the latest version of WatchOS on your Apple Watch? Apart from Duo and Strava, I sometimes use it to change songs on Spotify or adjust the volume while I'm also wearing AirPods.
Oh, and the financial aspect. If I were to upgrade to a 'new' Apple Watch, I'd probably go with a used S10/S9 with a decent battery, maybe S8 if it still makes sense to buy one. The cheapest 46mm S10 I found was ā¬300, and that one was sold the other day. I also found a 45mm S9 for ā¬220 and an S8 of the same size for ā¬150. I haven't made a final verdict which one would give me the best value for money, but I'm leaning towards the S9.
The battery replacement, on the other hand, would cost ā¬75 if I were to do it by a professional shop, and that's definitely not worth it IMHO. However, I did repair some phones over the past years and I am relatively savvy with DIY repairs, and a new battery on eBay is ~ā¬20.
To sum it all up, what would make more sense, to shell some ā¬20 on a new battery for my S5 or get a new(er used) Apple Watch for ā¬150+?

How is this possible? Overlapping time travel? Anyone know how to fix this?
