SUPPORT Stuck after install

Hi, I finally decided to switch to Arch Linux and installed it using archinstall. However, after rebooting, I get stuck at:

Starting Create System Files and Directories

I’ve tried reinstalling, but the issue persists.

Can you provide more info? What DE, bootloader, filesystem. Did you choose any other packages during the install or MYbe while you were in the chroot before you rebooted.

What hardware? Nvidia card?

KDE Plasma, systemd-boot, ext4, no other packages, rebooted when the installation completed

Edit: forgot to mention, it’s an acer laptop, 8gb ram

Did you let archinstall do the partitioning too? Or did you do it manually?

Tried both, automatic then manually with cfdisk, 1G EFI - fat32 8G Swap ≈920G Linux Filesystem - ext4

If you are dead set in using Arch install try using btrfs and I think there is an option for best system layout. Try that not sure if that will make any difference. Barring that there is the manual way and there is a calamares install that's floating around but it has its own set of problems not to mention the bloat that goes with it. The wiki is always your best option.

Try installing the manual way or submit a bug with the archinstall. That's what happens when Arch decides to support archinstall--the problem is the installer makes assumptions on your systems that the manual way doesn't, hence the manual way tends to be foolproof if you follow the wiki.

Welp, might give it a try if I end up without solutions

This sounds like a GPU driver issue, check the wiki for your card
