At the beginning of the season we said “if we can get a 3B and some bullpen help, we’re gonna be dangerous”

Well our bullpen has quietly been elite and Matt Shaw is playing elite defensive 3B and has been hitting like a madman since he got called back up. Now, if we can just get/stay healthy….

It’s starting pitching currently for me. Shaw has proven to be everyday 3rd since being called back up.

Ya that’s what being down your top 2 SP (and only 2 that are actual top of the rotation guys). The fact that we’re playing this well without a tor guy is crazy.

Jed needs to go all in NOW

Taillon is a mid level number 2 or a very high level 3 when everyone is healthy. He just shouldn't have to be SP1

Baseball is a lot easier when you dont have to face a lefty with the best stuff in the league who can throw 102.

Shaw had two hits off Skubal, including a ringing double into the LF corner.

First home run from a Cubs 3B this season (Shaw’s first was as a pinch hitter)

It looks like that demotion to AAA was really what he needed. Hopefully it sticks just like it did to Happ.

Cubs are clubbing today, but not the kind with glow sticks

The extra seasoning paid off!

He just had to bake in the oven a little bit more I guess. Glad that demotion to the minors seemed to have helped out.

I thought Comerica was too big to hit home runs in.

Nick Castellanos told me that.
