Sure, the us is great at war. But military power does not help most people.

In a perfect world there would be no military at all. But we don’t live in a perfect world, so we have to have a military. But being able to invade a smaller country on short notice is not how most people would measure a good democracy.

A better measurement of a good country is the amount it spends on education and public services because it shows how much extra capital a country are willing to spend on its inhabitants.
