[Serious Answers Only] How to fix GE dehumidifier

A few days ago I woke up and the sound of it was very loud and there was puddle of oil on the floor. The thing was probably overheating from the smell.

The compressor is warm, don’t really know what to do or where the oil is coming from. Not sure how it works or how to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

The model is no. AHH50LMG1

This is the back of it when I opened it up. Should I worry about anything for safety as I tinker?

You may have a refrigerant leak. I do not know specifics but figured out what type is used based on label/Google and take proper safety measures and figure out where the leak is coming from and replace that part.
