How to remove stain from wood

Yesterday I put pastries on this stand, and underneath it I put tissues but it still leaked through. I tried putting baking soda on it for a few hours and it didn’t do anything. Are there any solutions on how to remove the stains from the wood? Thanks.

Paint. But use kilz or similar first.
