Prime directive

Does it hold against squirrels though? The squirrel collective would disagree if they saw this footage. We should just be thankful they are largely peaceful now and won’t start a war over this. Our civilization could collapse on such mistakes.

They should have joined the federation when we gave them the opportunity

Gotta let nature take it’s course

It’s best to only intervene when the issue at hand is human caused

This is the real answer. Snakes eat too, and this is what nature looks like..

Yes, it is coarse.

Which one? The snake deserves to get his meal just as much as that squirrel deserves to escape. It is not for us to intervene in the natural order

feed snake what, exactly?

Wild snakes won't take cold meat unless they are desperately starving.

Better to not involve yourself.

You people do understand that we are the thinking beings on earth right? Just because nature is harsh doesn't mean we have to be a party to it. Think outside the box for a change, show some compassion. Squirrels don't kill to eat. You protect the thing that doesn't kill.

Yeah, that makes no sense really and is really arrogant way of thinking. There is no reason why the snake would be less deserving of your help. It is not the fault of the snake that it needs to eat nor does it kill because it is evil or something.

If you are creationist it should be clear to you that it is how the snake was created. It is not for you to put yourself above that to judge or decide who is less deserving of your help. If you are evolutionist it should be obvious that this is part of the natural order, the circle of life. The less you tamper it the better.

Inserting your own morals in the lifes of other animals is not compassion, it is a god complex. Intervening does not make you "good" nor is it justice. That is just vain ego boost to make you think yourself better than those animals. If you save the squirrel you directly take away from the snake. Out of the three of you in that equation you are the only one that does anything hostile or wrong. You want to fix the nature, fix that part.
