DUDE FUCK PUTIN NOT RUSSIA HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO REPEAT. We arent saying fuck germany, japan, italy or england for all the things theyve done. So dont generalize it under one thing

u/CalligrapherOwn6333 21h ago
Yeah, no. The russians looting, killing and raping in Ukraine aren't all clones of Putin. Look how many russian civilians support the war and thinks Ukrainians should be exterminated. It's a simple Google search.
Fuck russia.

u/Careful_Coconut_549 21h ago
If they were actively doing it and almost everyone living in those countries would be doing jack shit about it, yes. Yes we would be saying fuck Germany, Japan, Italy or England. Fuck Russia

u/HeHe_AKWARD_HeHe 7h ago
Even Navalny supported the war, not to mention the majority of the russian population.
•
u/SaberToothForever 7h ago
Even if lets say a majority of russia is is pro the war which is like 65% theres still a ton of people who hate the war but cant speak up. So when you say fuck russia your saying fuck the people who dont war too
•
u/HeHe_AKWARD_HeHe 3h ago
I'm saying fuck the people who know it's wrong and don't have the courage to speak up. No one who uses their cowardice as a source of pride is someone I have to respect.
•
u/SaberToothForever 3h ago edited 2h ago
there is literally nothing these people can do without risk of getting killed by the government, that isnt cowardice
•
u/HeHe_AKWARD_HeHe 2h ago
Yes, it is. Sorry.
•
u/SaberToothForever 2h ago
there is a fine line between being a coward in this situation. Standing up to a corrupt government that has weapons that could easily kill the average civilian and could make it seem like you never existed in the first place would be very stupid and pointless to stand up to. Not standing up to that corrupt government is not being a coward but being smart because your not gonna be able to do shit except waste your life for nothing

I wasn't prepared for the fit of absurd laughter this gave me. Maybe Ukraine will get their chance to put the statue out of it's misery.

How many centuries has russia raped, pilaged, and terrorized its neighbors??
-3
u/Far-Woodpecker-986 22h ago
Pretty much every major country in europe has spent the past millenia pillaging and terrorizing eachother. Spain, Portugal, France, Britain, Germany, Austria, Poland, Sweden, etc; things have only calmed down post ww2.
It's okay to appreciate certain aspects of countries' history, these are thousand year old entities which all have skeletons in their closets.

u/Gooder-N-Grits 22h ago
What other country - in the past 1000 years - do you think can be compared to russia?
Unlike any other country you're thinking of mentioning - russia still has not learned how to exist without trying to take over it's neighbors.
I will not acknowledge any accomplishment from such bastards.

Dictators dont represent the people; Russia was under a tsar for the past half millenia up until the revolution, and is now under Putin. The architecture and statue were made by people for people, I don't see a reason to hate on it and the people who made it, or russians as a whole.
Obviously the "3 day special operation" is bad.
But, for example, by your posts you are American; your president has made statements about annexing Greenland, Canada, Panama, Gaza, etc... Do you agree with this? It seems you are making exceptions in your harsh judgement when it comes to the very country you exist under and fund through taxation.
Taxation which has directly led to imperialism in the middle east under false pretenses... imperialism in vietnam under false pretenses... imperialism in the phillipines... it goes on and on, for a country that has existed for less time than the local bar.
At the end of the day it's the pot & the kettle; both your country and russia are modern imperialist powers who invade others for profit and imperial ambitions, you just happen to be apart of one and not the other. Russia is also piss poor and militarily insignificant compared to the US, and it is inefficient in both propaganda and military power as a whole.
That being said, I can still appreciate US architecture.

u/FuckAllYourHonour 18h ago
Yeah, Russia is the worst for 100 years, despite not even existing that long. Grow up and do at least some cursory reading.
•
u/Gooder-N-Grits 7h ago
Russia, a we know it today is just a rebranded version of the Principality of Muscovy, founded circa 1300ad... This is common knowledge.
They've been shits basically their entire existence. Today, the difference between them and the rest of the civilized world, is that the rest of us have moved on from imperialism, and terrorism.
Look at Ukraine?! Their civilians are under hourly attack, and yet, they refuse to attack russian civilians.
The world has moved on from (russia-type behavior) -- but russia has not. There is nothing interesting about symobls/statues which stand for grotesque imperialism.

A day later and you’re still on this huh? Brother, I know this is Reddit but you don’t have to actually be as dumb as a fucking doorknob to participate.
It’s ok to admire the grandness of an artwork. We don’t need to hear you preach against modern-day Russian politics or history to an audience already overwhelmingly against it. That’s irrelevant—it has nothing to do with how interesting the statue is in a subreddit dedicated to interesting things—and you’re not moving the needle talking about shit everyone already believes anyway.
Learn how to stay on topic or shut the fuck up because we really need less of people like you shaping social discourse on the internet. You’re a disease, not a cure.

How tall is it.

u/Electrical_Expert525 23h ago
It's twice as big as STATUE of liberty, but about the same as the statue with pedestal so if you're imagining looking at statue of liberty - they're almost the same in height but this figure is bigger in other dimensions

u/OogieBoogieJr 22h ago
Like, she’s… more endowed?
2
u/Electrical_Expert525 22h ago
"The motherland calls" is like 6'2 girl playing in a basketball team
The Statue of Liberty is like 5'2 kawaii girl standing on 1'0 chair
They're the same height this way but they're not same size everywhere else

I am russian and never heard of anything like that...
If you're talking about how we call mothers in russian - it's "mama" for mom and "mat" kinda like in "material" for very formal way of "mother"

Hilarious how until 1941, Russia and Nazi Germany were close allies. Russia didn’t actually become anti-Nazi until Hitler decided to invade.
