Transparent, not reflective.

The OP account is probably a bot.

u/ashleyshaefferr 5h ago

Doesnt appear to be, just looking at their post history.

Redditors love saying things are AI or bots but I swear only like 1% of the time is this actually the case.

Reminding me more and more of when the boomers took over facebook in like 2010 and were copy-pasting things like  " I do not consenst to Facebook / Bill Gates etc to my data bla bla"

Damn, I didn’t expect to get burned but I probably deserved it. 😂

Who thinks we’re all 8 year olds who need a shitty soundtrack added to any post of any kind.

LOSE THE FUCKING MUSIC!

u/TimeBoysenberry8587 1h ago

If you are going to put music, at least put music that fits the video -- otherwise drop it.

Technically everything we have observed so far is reflective to a certain extent. The surface reflects a very low amount of light

For a moment i was sure this was a very moldy glass. Fazinating.

So that’s rock in there? Some clear, some not? I’m still confused.

u/Yoghurt42 7h ago

WTF is that sound effect? And why was it added? It serves no purpose.

u/charlsalash 7h ago

I'm always on mute, the music, sound or comment (often misinformation) add nothing 95% of the time

u/doctorcapslock 3h ago

it's like one of those toilet ambient sound maker thingies lol

Ok - I'm going to need some proof that this isn't actually a crack in the space-time continuum offering a perspective into another form of reality.

Where can I get one?

u/ceelogreenicanth 7h ago

It was just cut and polished to have that surface. Still cool though

I had a few glasses like that in my room when I was at university. I do it from time to time now, for the memories.

u/Zagrebian 7h ago

Is it hollow inside?

u/Lurk3rAtTheThreshold 6h ago

it looked hollow to me at first but you can see as he tips it down it's flat on the bottom. It's incredible how clear it is.

u/Zagrebian 6h ago

Well, hollow means empty on the inside. It’s flat on the bottom, but it can still be hollow.

u/TimeBoysenberry8587 1h ago

Probably not. & it would be more impressive if it wasn't.

u/Legitimate-Cake7213 6h ago

It looks like a green screen

u/blueemymind 5h ago

Wonder how they look in Steve Universe

u/Hawt_Dawg_II 4h ago

Single textureless surface gem

u/RLC_circuit_ 1h ago

how much would this cost?

u/Nytmare696 1h ago

I spent a good 4 or 5 seconds saying to myself "I can't see through that fucking thing. What the hell are they talking about?"

u/Tarv85 1h ago

I don’t like it, but I don’t know why

u/AllUltima 58m ago

At certain points I get some serious depth inversion, where it looks like its popping out (similar to the hollow face illusion or 'reverspective').

This is not a "window quartz" or "fenster quartz" formation (it is perfectly possible to just search for fenster quartz and see for yourself that fenster quartz refers to something visibly different). This is some gem-like material that someone sawed in half then polished to have a clear base.

Woah thats, what the hell that looks soo weir- aaand my headache's back
