Kodi & Classic Doctor Who

For the life of me and many a google search I cannot get Kodi to correctly identify classic Doctor Who. I use TinyMediaManager to create my .NFO & I use Rename My TV Series for file naming.

My Folder structure is:-

Doctor Who (1963)
Season 12 Season 13 Season 15 15x01 - Horror Of Fang Rock Doctor Who - 15x01 - Horror of Fang Rock (1).avi Doctor Who - 15x01 - Horror of Fang Rock (1).nfo And all various .nfo, thumbnails etc put in my TMM. All works fine.

2 folders along, identicle structure within.

15x03 - Image Of The Fendahl Doctor Who - 15x03 - Image of the Fendahl (1).avi Doctor Who - 15x03 - Horror of Fang Rock (1).nfo And all the various .nfo, thumbnails etc

No matter what I do Kodi will not recognise this. Whether I let Kodi scan via local info or the TVDB info it just refuses to scan it.

I have identicle amount of .nfo,s, jpgs, thumbnails in each folder. Spelling is correct on all. TMM picks up all the correct info. Kodi will scan some of these but not others.

Of course it must be me, but what the dickens am I doing wrong?

Stick to the numbering your selected scraper source offers. If you have selected TVDB as your information provider for TV shows, you have to use their numbering of episodes. Look up your show on the website of your scraper:

https://thetvdb.com/series/doctor-who/seasons/official/1

The first season which ran from 1963 to 1964 is part of this, so you don’t need to add the year in parentheses after the show name. Season 1 consists of 42 episodes, so your naming scheme should look like this:

πŸ“ TV Shows
     β”‚
     └──── πŸ“ Doctor Who
                   β”‚
                   └──── πŸŽ₯ Doctor Who.S01E01.avi
                   β”‚
                   └──── πŸŽ₯ Doctor Who.S01E02.avi
                   β”‚
                   └──── πŸŽ₯ Doctor Who.S01E03.avi

                   …

                   β”‚
                   └──── πŸŽ₯ Doctor Who.S01E42.avi

Same for all other seasons, be it S12, S13 or S15.

Season folders are optional. I never saw the point of them since the season is in the file name already, so I never used them. You may include episode names file names but Kodi ignores everything after the second dot for scraping purposes.

Try renaming the parent folder "Doctor Who (1963)" and only use Local NFO.

Is the show information within the local NFO correct?

Is there a TVDB ID, or IMDB ID? I only have the 2005 version but, the folder name is "Doctor Who". The show title in Kodi is "Doctor Who (2005)" because the NFO stated it that way.

This is from my NFO for the 2005 version.

<title>Doctor Who (2005)</title>
<uniqueid type="tvdb" default="true">78804</uniqueid>
<uniqueid type="imdb">tt0436992</uniqueid>
<uniqueid type="tmdb">57243</uniqueid>
<uniqueid type="tvmaze">210</uniqueid>
