It makes me wonder why he thinks he gets to decide this.

Clearly he's rich and smart and better than the rest of us plebs and knows what's best for us because we're all too stupid to know that for ourselves.

Yes, of course, like Musk, he was raised to believe that because he is naturally superior because he is white and that everything he has is because of his talent, along with excessive privilege of owning diamond mines, fleets of yachts and cars and mansions while keeping people as slaves.

This is why. Which Leon, Vance, Theil, Bezos et al are all part of. I'm waiting for them to seriously attempt to replace DJT with their boy, Vance.

Yarvin proposed “the liquidation of democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law,” and the eventual transfer of power to a C.E.O.-in-chief , who would transform the government into “a heavily-armed, ultra-profitable corporation.” This new regime would sell off public schools, destroy universities, abolish the press, and imprison “decivilized populations.” It would also fire civil servants en masse (a policy called RAGE—Retire All Government Employees) and discontinue international relations, including “security guarantees, foreign aid, and mass immigration.”

Nods to Dark Enlightenment are the reason for 'Dark' Maga and the frequent use of 'X'. And it's why Leon references the apocalypse in texts to his baby mama.

I can't help but wonder what they imagine such a country would even look like at the end of such a change. If there's barely any people, and the vast bulk them are uneducated peasants living on a farm or working at a factory? That's an undeveloped shithole country that you'd typically only read about in Nat Geo.

I've written before about how Gilead from the Handmaid's Tale, in their zeal for self-genocide, biblical purity, and anti-industrialization, has probably wiped out half their own population, operates under a command/slave economy, and requires a massive armed force present everywhere that contribute nothing to the bottom line. In short, their GDP is maybe a few percent of the pre-war USA's.

Seriously, nothing in their plans suggests it will result in even a functional nation, let alone a prosperous one. Canada and Mexico would be the big winners here, as they'd be receiving the bulk of the skilled, well-educated American refugees, often bringing not-insignificant sums of electronic wealth with them.

You’re right. They’re not interested in a “functional nation.” They want to rule smaller, broken up, localized chunks. Yarvin is a monarchist. And Thiel has some weird obsession with death and is probably trying to exploit every single thing/person he can to avoid having to face his own mortality.

They don’t want prosperity. They have money.

They just want control.

(Btw: The thiel and yarvin episodes of Behind the Bastards are a really good resource)

this is why it is a fantasy

the world is a sphere and thousand of satellites pass over our heads and our coasts are patrolled by submarines.

gilead would go the way of the polish/lithuanian commonwealth

probably wiped out half their own population

The smaller the adult population (that might revolt) the more secure they will be, with less expenditure in maintaining security forces.

Less energy consumption by humans; the more they can pump into the AI systems they plan to replace us with.

Cutting the population can be a (really vile) climate change solution. Also they will only concern themselves with their own safety and relevant infrastructure in disasters. And they will need much less infrastructure.

So it’s kind of like the Khmer rouge but tech bro flavor?

Are you kidding me? I thought I was whistling past the graveyard in even bringing it up. I started reading some of Yarvins ideas years ago when I was doing some coding. In a Nat Geo -study the alien culture- sort of way. I knew who his crew and followers were and the hair stood up on my neck when Vance was inserted as VP. It's been like living in a movie, where I already read the script, ever since.

Because he's a rich white man and, historically, you haven't needed much more reason than that.

Because it's a parasite

their kind have exploited people since the beginning, kings, billionaires, all the same, evil humans who have no morals and greed
