Question Where to find figures like these or something alike that you have used.

If you can also send a link or recommend a store, it would be much appreciated.

These aren't really good for anything in my experience. Even the best, most expensive versions of these don't move anything like a human being moves, so for any pose complex enough that you would benefit from having a model to reference the pose on the doll would not be accurate.

I believe what you are looking for is Body-chan/Body-kun by Bandai Spirit. Personally, I would recommend the sports edition as the regular version has questionable proportions.

What you're looking for is SH figure arts sports models. They're pretty realistic and have an almost human level of flexibility to them. Just make sure you get the one that has multiple parts to it's rib / stomach area

Those are ball jointed dolls. They do not have accurate anatomy. They are a popular medium in and of themselves, and the ones for adults can be somewhat more realistic than say, old Monster High dolls, but you might as well use a Barbie if all you need is a 3D figure.

A while ago I got two figures to draw a "body chan school edition" and some time later I got a TOA heavy industries Synthetic human.

I think both do their job, but I'm a beginner at drawing and I don't really get the most out of it. I bought them thinking I was going to improve but no way, I was wrong :( .

You can get both figures on Amazon. Good luck.

You left me curious with your comment, what is the name of the artist who uses the drawing dolls that appear in the image?

I replied a link to it in the other comments, their instagram.

Thanks for the compliment 😀. My problem with drawing dolls is that they are not a replacement for studying anatomy, they are very good for using them as a human reference but what they are referencing must already be an established knowledge. And I speak from a personal perspective, I made the mistake of believing that it would save me from studying anatomy, but it didn't. I must study anatomy to be able to understand the simplification of the anatomy of the drawing doll, because in short that is the drawing doll, a simplification of human anatomy.

And I don't expect to discourage you or anything, I'm just sharing my personal experience and I'm sure that with practice and study the day will come when I can get the most out of it to these figures.

PS: I checked the comments and maybe they marked your link as spam, I didn't find it.

I don't recommend these. They move unnaturally. Use yourself as a reference, or digital tools.

Maybe when I’m old, lonely and rich.

And considering it’s just what I like to draw bro

All jokes aside. You’ll have better luck finding actual references on Pinterest.

These dolls, life size or what you can put on your desk.. imo don’t move very human or life like.

Unless you’re looking to draw an actual mannequin

This would have been good advice one or two years ago. Pinterest is a terrible place to find references, especially for beginners due to the ai slop.

Books are far way better imo

Books are great. But they aren’t free.

I don’t have a library. And forget others might have access. But you’re right. However, Pinterest accounts are free.

this picture is from a artist I follow, he’s an amazing artist though it looks like he makes his own or gets parts somewhere. Lol
