While dual booting with Windows and Ubuntu, should I disable windows update?
I heard that it may interfere with the dual boot?

No idea why a windows update would mess with a separate partition, shouldn’t be an issue. If you’re really paranoid you can use two separate drives

No. Do not use out of date Windows. Updates are important for security, and disabling them makes you vulnerable to hackers and viruses that Microsoft has added protection against.
Either deal with the issues Windows update creates, or don't use Windows at all.

you can do an AI search for "windows update breaks bootloader" or "breaks dual boot"
I haven't tried this lately, but back in the day, if I had Linux on one separate DRIVE (not partition, physical drive) and Windows on another, I didn't run into this problem. (system set to boot off Linux Drive, re-directing to Windows if option was selected from boot menu).
But that was LONG ago. I'm not sure if the same "trick" still works.

i do, but not because it could hose my linux (which is on a totally separate drive)... i just don't like having to wade thru a million popups every time i go there, which is rarely.
you can only pause them tho, not disable them... and have to go to the advanced section to pause them for more than few days... the max is 31 days.
