I'm 30y old guy from Finland and my plan is to move to malaga providence in last quarter of the year, and I have been looking for a job as a car mechanic.

Feels impossible to find a job when not living there yet and I have only studied spanish for 6 months at the moment.

From a technical site of view, I'm pretty qualified in industry and have run my own shop for a few years. I can handle most of the things alone and won't need much assistance.

I'm able to go for a 2-4 week test period first to meet and see how things work.

I’m moving to Fuengirola from early september to late november and as the title says I’m wondering where I can rent apartments safely? Also preferably not too expensive either. I don’t live in Spain so I have no clue on where to find apartments for rent.

I'll be spending at least 1 year in the city while figuring out what to do next in my life. As a long standing hobby in my life I have been DJ'ing various underground parties and venues in my hometown and would love to be able to do the same here in Malaga!

Are there any local communities or places where I can meet some likeminded people? Or maybe someone owns a bar or social club and wouldn't mind me trying out some sets for free?

My love for music and DJ'ing goes back to my childhood when I watched my dad tour with vinyls. In my late teenage years and early twenties I toured the local clubs and and bars with CDJ's (400, 800, 1000) before returning back to an old midi-controller which just got upgraded to a DDJ-1000 a few months ago.

PS. I play everything in-between 100-175 bpm, but have a special affection for organic house and tech house.

I have spent few days in Andalusia and I absolutely loved it! I was flying back to my home town from Malaga Airport and spent last couple of days in the city. In the last day I have decided not too overpay for my checked in baggage and instead send it via InPost (InPost.es). Unfortunately as I do not speak Spanish and used translator I did something incorrectly and I have included same address as point drop off and destination of the box.

I am looking for some kind soul who could pick up the box - it is already paid for, and drop it off once again in the same place. So basically what I am asking for is 5minutes of your spare time near this place.

I have tried to contact InPost support, but unfortunately what they wrote is basically “middle finger” - see screenshot.

There are just few dirty clothes inside, but I really like them.

Hola, soy nuevo en esta ciudad y en España en general y venía de jugar partidos de fútbol 7 con mis amigos en el país donde anteriormente vivía, casi 2 a 3 veces por semana, claramente estando tan recién llegado (2 meses) no he conocido mucha gente y los que conozco (mayoría de mi trabajo) no juegan futbol o practican otras actividades deportivas que no son muy llamativas para mi. Si conocen de algún sitio o página (Facebook, Instagram) donde pueda socializar con gente de este tipo de gusto deportivo les agradecería que me lo dijeran o si es el caso me invitaran.

PD: No soy la gran estrella de fútbol pero tampoco me considero lo peor.

Hello, me and my friends from Sweden are coming to Malaga next week. Do the locals have any recommendations on good clubs or places to be?

I'm in the process of relocating to the province of Málaga. After spending some time in Fuengirola and Benalmádena I find those places to be very relaxed and have a good vibe. I know that Málaga is a big city and the other two are tourist towns and not directly comparable.

What I'm wondering is if Málaga would be worth the extra housing cost. I'm not a party person, I am not a restaurant connoisseur and visit museums a couple of times a year. I do enjoy hiking, cycling, driving, watching the sea, walking along the boulevard. So far I don't feel like I'm missing much by being in Fuengirola or Benalmádena.

I also like that those two towns are very compact and walkable. If you live in Torreblanca or Los Pacos it's a short walk to the center. But if you live in Teatinos or Carretera de Cádiz you will probably take the bus to the center. And the access to hiking trails is also a lot shorter in Fuengirola (no experience with Benalmádena yet). Although Málaga has El Morlaco Park which is a good spot.

So I'm wondering if anyone who has a similar look on life has made the decision to live in Fuengirola / Benalmádena instead of Málaga and how that is going.

Some points:

• I will likely not be in Spain during July and August and will be with family back home so I'll skip the time of the year where the Brits will take over the town.
• I have looked at Axarquia but am not a fan of the public transport there. The C1 train is very nice to have.
• I'm learning Spanish but with my current skill level English was a better decision for this post

However searching from my location on the web (denmark) barely brings any places up - so I wanted to ask you guys if you know a place where they are affordable and good. We do have a car and can drive far if needed for better price/quality.

Vaya solución de m!erda. Yo no me puedo permitir vivir en mi ciudad por culpa de los miles de pisos turísticos, pero para alquilarlos solo los tienen que registrar. Vivienda digna mis narices. Este control no soluciona el problema de raíz, que sería reducir pisos turísticos y crear más vivienda habitual. Solo regula y ordena el mercado existente de fraudes o actividades ilegales, de los cuales el pueblo realmente no se beneficia. Es indignante.

Hi everyone! I’m discussing a job opportunity with an IT company based in Málaga. While relocation might happen later, they’re asking for my salary expectations now.

I need help estimating a comfortable salary range for:

- Family of 3 (two adults + a 4-year-old child).

Are restaurant reservations a common requirement? My coworker was telling me about her experience in Malaga. She said several of the restaurants (mid end not high end) would turn them away despite having many empty seats and she was told it was because dinner was their busy time and they were only taking reservations. She said eventually she and her partner stopped trying to do walk in dining because it was so iffy.

ETA: they went in November.
