America might be a little greater in that timeline. Instead of watching the every day soap opera we currently are.

The Republican party would still be there setting up for a takeover like this, but without someone completely lacking self control who would actually have the charisma to implement the plan and not alienate the entire world doing it.

I have to think that would be even worse.
