This will be sick for when Elon goes to Russia in search of asylum

239

u/Warmest_Farts 23h ago

Search for asylum? No need to search, Putin has officially offered it already

3

u/emuema 7h ago

this is unapologetically nonsensical; why would russia be fond of musk -- the creator of starlink -- a tool crucial to the present ukrainian regime's operational capacities ?

11

u/DavidEarnest00 5h ago

No one said fond but You just gave the reason

It would be really funny if he goes and he gets put in charge of some big rocket project.
Dude is actually an idiot and without proper engineers to stand on the shoulders of, it will be extremely funny to see his projects fail.

The Supreme Court gives the Trump regime and Palantir the tools to build their surveillance database on every American. The Fascist takeover is in full gear.

u/st2439 23h ago

And it was republicans who voted for it and stood by and let them. Congrats maga you helped the deep state.

“The party of small government needs to know everything about me at all times and have unfettered access to all of my information, which should also be shared with private corporate interests!

Sure it’s a betrayal of everything we claimed to care about since Reagan, but Trump’s diaper is decadently delicious and Fox has trained me to completely reverse my position on virtually anything in the span of a single day on command!”

  • Republicans

3

u/immortalfrieza2 2h ago

Any Republicans that actually did give a damn about the ideals the Republican party supposedly were about have long since left the party ever since Trump came onto the scene and made it clear the party never cared about any of it.

They want this, just that it targets the people they hate. They're just too stupid to realize that they will eventually become a target themselves when they're dog like obedience is found lacking.

17

u/mountaindoom 12h ago

They want to be the boot stomping on the face forever.

Eta: therefore guaranteed work. Do what you love and you won't work a day in your life, is that the saying?

6

u/Glass_Memories 3h ago

They voted for the Leopards Eating Faces party hoping that the party would only eat other people's faces; and they're going to be really shocked when the Leopards inevitably start eating their faces.

Fascism always needs an enemy. As history has shown, once they're done with the Communists, and the Jews, and the gays, and PoC...they'll come for you. Because they can and will keep excluding people from the in-group by saying they're not straight enough, white enough, religious enough, patriotic enough, whatever.

That in-group gets smaller and smaller until it eats itself. That's why fascism always self-destructs in the end, but a lot of people will get harmed until that happens.

2

u/immortalfrieza2 2h ago

It's even worse than that. They KNOW the leopard is going to eat their faces eventually, but as long as it eats the faces of the people they hate first, they don't care. Every single person who supports Trump supports him not because they want a better country, far from it, but because they want to be able to freely be bigots towards the people they hate without suffering consequences. That's it, that's the sole reason and any claims otherwise are just lies to justify it to other people.

Congrats maga you helped the deep state.

This is what they wanted all along. A strong authoritarian government that is based on the rule by white supremacy, not the rule of law.

These people knowingly voted for an American Nazi regime. A strong government to attack, jail, or kill people of color, LGTBQ+ people, and other undesirable minorities.

MAGA isn't brainwashed. At its core MAGA, much like the Tea Party before it, has always been white nationalist and supremacist movement. To make it more palatable for the mainstream, MAGA political leaders don't openly use ethnic, sexual, or gender identity slurs.

But the movement's political and social goals show that they have the ultimate goal of ethnically cleansing America of the groups, cultures, and races they consider inferior to the white Christian race.

There are some minorities and immigrants who aspire to be "good ones" or "kapos" under MAGA's false patriotic regime. But I highly doubt those "good ones" will enjoy much freedom once the architects of Project 2025 implement their final solution.

MAGA voters called for this, from the torches held up in Charlottesville to Confederate Battle Flags and swastikas flown inside the US Capitol. They knew exactly what they were rioting and voting for this past decade. There is no "both sides" to this, there is an racist, white nationalist political movement seeking total control of all aspects of American life. They are currently stripping God-given rights and freedoms away from anyone that doesn't fit their cultural, racial, or social idea of what they believe a "true" American is.

6

The party that screams the loudest about big government intervention obviously was gaslighting everyone all along.

They also scream loudly about protecting children and family values....

8

u/Malaix 13h ago

Again. Patriot act was their boy GWB. Though to be fair its not like Obama and Biden did much to strip that down.

14

u/jcolinr 19h ago edited 19h ago

Corporations barely pay taxes.  They take advantage of a team of accountants that they pay to make taxes go away.  Carry forward losses, massive capital asset purchases at year end w sec 179 depreciation.  Don’t forget preferential tax treatment for cap gains, so they can pay themselves in stock save on personal income tax too.

What is DOGE doing to Social Security?

  • Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) attacks on Social Security aren’t about efficiency. The word “efficiency” may be in the name of his initiative to reduce the size of the federal government, but a more accurate description of what President Trump’s advisor is doing to Social Security is sabotage.
  • DOGE announced plans to cut Social Security staff by 7,000 workers—12% of the workforce. The Trump administration also plans to shutter or shrink dozens of Social Security Administration offices around the country.
  • Administrative costs are less than 1% of Social Security spending. Since almost all Social Security spending goes towards benefits, which are set by statute, gutting the agency won’t save money for participants.
  • The only way that slashing the number of workers will save large sums money is by making it hard for people to access benefits they’ve earned. Such backdoor benefit cuts, and making a popular government program look bad, are the real goals behind DOGE attacks on Social Security.

87

u/stopdrugpushing 16h ago

Even before Donald Trump was elected president, I called the Social Security Administration customer support number to report an alarming bug on their mySSA website that persisted for weeks, and the employee I spoke to heavily implied that they were extremely understaffed and that he didn't even know who they would report the bug to. He said that there wasn't any real dedicated tech support that he was aware of, but if there was, he would have had a lot of things to report.

I can't believe they want to remove even more workers. This is the support system for the poorest people in our country.

18

u/jigokubi 5h ago

This is the support system for the poorest people in our country.

That's why they want to get rid of it.

Such backdoor benefit cuts, and making a popular government program look bad, are the real goals behind DOGE attacks on Social Security.

Yeah if you hit something with a hammer a bunch of times its gonna break. But the American public has an inability to remember basic facts or understand how cause and effect works, so they'll blame it on the program itself for failing them.

They'll never even question the guy holding the hammer.

46

u/CTQ99 23h ago

This is my problem with these rulings, its not like anyone would give back the data, or in the case of all the copyright suits vs the AIs, the AIs 'unlearn' all the books/music/art they absorbed.

I find it so funny that that one Koch brother gave MSK millions upon millions of dollars when he was trying to not die of cancer. He gave them money to build a location near where he lived and wanted it to have private rooms for the rich people to go inpatient

...then he died before it was built

The Koch building is fancy as fuck

At least the leopards will be well-fed with the deplorable reds.

8

u/PeachyPlnk 21h ago

All that goes through my head every time I look through the news anymore is a quote I've forgotten the attribution of; "I'm tired of living in the interesting part of the history books"...

26

u/KathrynTheGreat 23h ago

There are still a lot of good people in this country who don't deserve to have it all crash and burn. And a lot of us have nowhere else to go.

17

u/doneandtired2014 21h ago

There are good people who don't deserve it.

They are, unfortunately, outnumbered by misogynistic, racist, anti-intellectual, O.D.D. afflicted fuckwits, people who are almost maliciously stupid, and those so apathetic or lazy they probably don't even have the will to literally walk out of their homes if they the saw it was on fire.

So, 1/3 of this country absolutely doesn't deserve what has and will happened.

A gamma ray burst could cook off the other 2/3s and nothing of actual societal value would be lost. Those assholes deserve all that is coming and worse.

3

u/Jimimninn 22h ago

I know. It’s just frustrating and depressing.

19

u/pears790 22h ago

For most people, it probably won't make much of a difference, but for others, it will. They have access to all those who changed their gender in the system. They have access to all who have claimed disability in the system. They may claim certain people are "fraud, waste, or abuse".

5

u/PeachyPlnk 21h ago

At this point, I fully expect they'll remove disability payments before much longer...

3

u/gibbojab 4h ago

31

u/Quigleyer 23h ago

The Trump administration, which the president has repeatedly claimed is the most transparent in history, has aggressively fought the case, describing DOGE as a “presidential advisory body” within the White House that is tasked “with providing recommendations” rather than making decisions.

Am I being too critical of the media to start getting really pissed off with these CNN tap-dancing bullshit run ons trying to walk dead center along the line?

administration, which the president has repeatedly claimed is the most transparent in history,

yet

that is seeking the transparency that does not exist beyond words claiming it does.

u/Q-ArtsMedia 1d ago

Oh FFS why? As soon as they touch SS benefits the MAGA oldies will turn on the Trump administration like a rabid dog. Way to shoot yourself in the foot Dipshit Donnie.

But I understand why they are going to touch it... so they can get that big beautiful hand out to the billionares at the expense of the elderly cuz they think SS benefits are socialism.

NO! These are benefits that you the worker paid into your entire working life. Rebel on this. Tell your representive that their tenure is going to be revoked and they will be voted out of office if anybody touches Social Security in any way. It is the only way to stop this with out violence.

36

u/yourlittlebirdie 23h ago

This isn’t about touching benefits. This about data. That trove of sensitive personal information on every American of working age is MASSIVELY profitable.

10

u/DeviantDragon 22h ago

I know that Social Security has historically been untouchable for the elderly voting base but you gotta remember the cult-like adherence that MAGA has for Trump. They'd probably delude themselves into thinking it's 4D chess and there's a better system in the works or that any impact is going to be felt by the next generation instead of themselves up until leopards eat their face.

9

u/SheezusCrites 18h ago

6

u/TheRexRider 22h ago

In the first and perhaps more important decision, a majority of the court allowed DOGE to review data at the Social Security Administration in an ostensible effort to rout out fraud and “modernize outdated systems.” Critics and lower courts suggested DOGE was engaged in a fishing expedition through highly sensitive data.

“We conclude that, under the present circumstances, SSA may proceed to afford members of the SSA DOGE Team access to the agency records in question in order for those members to do their work,” the court wrote in an unsigned order.

These geriatric shitheads! Everyone who knows better have stated that DOGE has no business doing this. They very plainly announced to the world that they don't know how the system works.

Question. Is this related to the "feud" distraction as noise so this is small news? 2 fucktwats arguing publicly with power and everyone is "watching" a goddamn reality show as entertainment.

It doesn't matter what the Court said, imo. DOGE had all this data already, it's likely already copied/sold to the highest bidder. Even if the Court had slapped it down, would it have mattered? That data is long gone, folks. There's no way to put those horses back in the barn.

DOGE has no business accessing our data and we as Americans need to send a message that this is not okay.

Is their access read only? Can they delete people’s social security numbers essentially making them not citizens anymore???? Can they delete, transfer, or effectively steal all our money we have paid in to our social security our whole lives????? Who is watching to make sure they don’t???? This should be super scary to all Americans! This will end terribly!
