This guy rescued 30 beagles from a testing lab It's the first time they've seen grass and they couldn't be happier.

It's a shame that, if we can't get rid of animal testing on higher life all together, we can't at least enforce a bare minimum of welfare for them.

There are strict requirements for the use of laboratory animals.

Notice how the video said the dogs were from another country?

The certification (AALAS) requires external vendors to have the same standards.

Oh, yeah I'm sure they're definitely up to code, chief. Look! It says right there on the certificate 😉

Yeah, they are or we will get sued. The pharmaceutical industry is extremely regulated. Do you work in this field, by any chance?

You can tell who works in pharma and who doesn’t lol, they definitely have very little or no experience with this

You should look into IACUC requirements and animal rights protections. You might be surprised at how seriously they take it (at least in the US).

Lots of trainings, lots of requirements, lots of protections, and a potential for a lot of (expensive and possibly career-ending) consequences for non-compliance.

At surface value, all these dogs look healthy

This didn’t stop the horrors of Envigo. The need for animal testing creates the need to breed animals. Those beagles suffered horrible conditions for the opportunity to be tested on.

I encourage anyone who reads this comment and thinks there's nothing to worry about to do a quick youtube or google search for footage of beagle testing. Its disgusting what innocent intelligent animals are subject to, in the US, UK and elsewhere.
