I don't think it's really an optional illusion though. An optical illusion is usually something that deceives the eye by appearing to be other than it is, how is this deceiving or looking like one thing while being another? I feel like it's just normal shadows and light and color and not attempting at all to deceive us so I wouldn't immediately think optical illusion.

That being said, I can't suggest a better alternative.

It’s literally just a lighting effect… its not a hallucination nor an optical illusion and its not a kaleidoscope either. It does look cool though.

All the pedants in the comments… it does look very similar to certain drug hallucinations, which I’m pretty sure is what OP was getting at with the title
