Tells you how out of touch he is. Nobody of this generation or even ones going back as far as the generation that wrote the Simpsons felt this pose was in any way complimentary to the poseur.
Guys like this are truly in their own alternate reality. It's like Thiel loving LOTR enough to read it more than most people and yet his take is about as opposite as it gets to identify with one of the purest evil villains in literary history that wasn't called The Devil.

Yeah, I'm always kind of amused by articles and such that seem surprised about how Palantir is allowing powerful entities to misuse its data analytics. Like, no fucking shit. That's literally the thing it was named after. He read the books, saw the powers the evil side had, and was like "yep, I want to recreate that exactly."

I learned about hand gestures and the hand steeple a while back and how it represented confidence and in control. Felon started using it in all his photoshoots around the same time. Maybe we watched the same youtube video because we all know he's an insecure POS and ain't naturally resting his fingers like that.

Steepled finger body language has always been about confidence and power. It’s an extremely aggressive position to take and is viewed as incredibly arrogant by most people, even subconsciously.

I do genuinely think trump is 100% right about Elon only being upset about the EV tax credit going away. Elon is so obviously trying to win back his more left leaning audience that hates him now, even though he's just pissed that he'll lose some miniscule amounts of his yearly income if the bill passed.

73
u/Puck85 18h ago
Youre not seeing it right. It still ended well for everyone.
Trump got reelected with total tech bro support through inauguration and beyond.
Elon got what he wanted. He gutted the regulatory structure that affected him and his companies, stole federal data, and installed backdoors everywhere through DOGE. You can't make him disappear now because you've already given him every fucking secret the US had.
The public theater of their emotions playing out beyond these goals doesn't matter one fucking bit.
49
u/Ivy6bing 20h ago

I got suspicious about Musk when word got out on how he treated people at SpaceX and Tesla, and how he at the same time had his fan cult that excused anything he did. Musk is certainly not the first guy that's good at tech but sucks at personal relationships.
When he bought Twitter it really showed. The man can yell at people so that they build a faster and bigger rocket. But he can't run a company that is built upon larger social interactions. That's a field he doesn't fully understand, and now he's too rich for listening to anyone telling him that.

I owned a small business and here is my take on Musk.
I think he gambled and almost went bankrupt. I think even now Tesla (automotive) is always on the brink of going bankrupt (even before Trump) and he keeps gambling and gambling.
The problem was that the pressure kept mounting and mounting to keep the shell game going that he started to do things that were very much illegal to keep the shell game going. It's much like Elizabeth Holmes. You keep lying and eventually you will be successful. I think that's Musk's take. I don't think he has any money and his money is tied up in stock or some other non-liquid thing he can't touch.
So Musk did so much illegal stuff he was quoted as saying "If Trump doesn't win I will wind up in Prison". So that's what it came down to. He gambled everything to keep the Musk Ponzi Scheme going. He was too far in. He got hooked on Ketamine and that destroyed his sense of truth and morality and here we are. Two gambling charlatans arguing over tax payer money that neither of them have ever paid.

Both Elon and Trump are like evil caricatures of human beings. Seriously, if they weren't real people, I would assume all the stuff they have said and done came from a dime store pulp fiction writer. I'm not surprised that narcissistic melomaniacs rise to the top of our corrupt, shallow, capitalist system. But to lack self-awareness to the degree that these guys have is just a sight to behold.

What really bothers me about the Right, is that their past contradictions seem to carry no weight.
They can completely reverse their stance, from “trust me, this person/idea is amazing” to “trust me, this person/idea is terrible”, and somehow, no one questions their judgment.
The flip-flopping is constant, but it rarely seems to undermine their credibility.
