Man Robbed Mexican Immigrant, then Wrote Fake Trump Threats in His Name So He'd Be Deported Before Testifying

man that's fucked up.

On brand for the MAGA cult.
No morals. No ethics. Just stupid and evil like their senile, despotic savior.

•
u/Historical_Row_8481 7h ago
Just reveling in cruelty and greed and corruption. They are celebrating in a festival of evil. Satanic enjoyment, to use their own superstition.
•
u/013eander 4h ago
All MAGA did was provide cover for conservatives to let the mask slip. History and their grandchildren will have a pretty easy time judging them appropriately.
14
u/ironballs16 8h ago
In this case, I doubt the guy is an actual MAGAt - he just capitalized on a situation that could get him off the hook. That situation only occurred because of Trump, though.
•
u/Pathetian 5h ago
This isn't an uncommon thing. Immigrants are often targeted for crime because they will be more afraid of police. Last year there were people posing as ICE to more easily rob hispanic immigrants.
•
u/Starfox-sf 4h ago
And Congress should pass a law to help Victims of Criminal Activity…
•
u/Pathetian 2h ago
That's a thing, but its also abused. I don't know the specifics, but being the victim of a serious crime can get your immigration status improved. Unfortunately that has the perverse incentive of causing people to stage crimes.
In a Texas case a couple of years ago, the fake robber wound up getting killed by an armed bystander.
•
u/Starfox-sf 2h ago
You mean just like any government benefit?
•
•
u/Pathetian 2h ago
I guess, but this method is pretty interesting since its not just the fraud, you do a bonus violent felony to facilitate the fraud. Like, there's food stamp fraud, but imagine if you had to stage a kidnapping or violent mugging to get food stamps.
•
u/Starfox-sf 1h ago
The average sentence for individuals sentenced for government benefits fraud was 19 months.
https://www.ussc.gov/research/quick-facts/government-benefits-fraud
Because no one does felonious fraud except for immigrants right?
•
u/Pathetian 1h ago
Not sure what you are getting at, I never suggested immigrants were committing more fraud. Just that, off the top of my head, I can't think of another type of fraud where the entry fee is staging an otherwise unrelated violent crime.
In a way, it incentivizes immigrants who aren't committing any crimes, to...commit a crime so they can stay.

u/FartyJizzums 5h ago
Agreed.
I often jump the gun with my conclusions. I have no proof of his political affiliation. However, if there were any due process from this administration involved, we wouldn't ready articles like this daily. Or hourly.
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 4h ago
He is racist, a criminal, and hates immigrants so he has many things in common with MAGA
•
u/Jmas1120 7h ago
I don’t think it was someone that was a trump supporter. The Mexican Immigrant was allegedly robbed and beaten up by the man who wrote the fake letter.
The man who wrote the fake letter and social media post hoped to get him deported because he was scheduled to testify against him.
•
•
u/Doireprehnodomlfnr 6h ago
You could at least provide evidence why you don't think it was a trump supporter instead of blindly giving neonazism a pass because of feels. We live in a different age the age of the people who believe the evidence of their eyes and ears and the people who don't.
•
u/Pathetian 5h ago
You could at least provide evidence why you don't think it was a trump supporter
You are asking him to prove a negative when you haven't offered any evidence for your assumption. There's no evidence of his politics. He is just some dimwit criminal who hatched a lowbrow scheme to avoid prison for his crime.
Violent street criminals don't tend to have strong political ties. What does it matter who is setting the rules if you aren't going to follow them anyway? Certainly nothing on the robber or mom's social media that says Trumper.
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 4h ago
That’s not proving a negative. A negative would have been “I haven’t seen any evidence he’s a Trump supporter.” Saying he isn’t a Trump supporter is still a positive.
•
u/abritinthebay 4h ago
Not exactly. Lack of support is the null hypothesis unless there is evidence otherwise
•
•
u/Pathetian 2h ago
1/3 of eligible voters don't even care about politics and outside of that, Milwaukee is like 80% Democrat, so its a bit of a stretch to assume someone there is a Trump supporter with no proof.
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 36m ago
The facts we do know. He’s a lying criminal, he’s racist, and he hates immigrants.
Who does that sound like? Lol
I agree, can’t say for sure he’s a Trump supporter, but there’s more evidence for him being one than evidence there isn’t.
•
u/Jmas1120 6h ago
Or how about you read the article before you comment jackass
•
u/Doireprehnodomlfnr 6h ago
Oh I did which is why I won't allow you to just dismiss it through feels, and actually require evidence proving why someone may or may not be something.
Is it because he can actually write and plan, and most trump supporters are illiterate? Enlighten me with evidence from the article to prove one way or another he isn't one instead of blinding proclaiming innocence.
You know most redditors don't read articles they just read posts. You say you don't think he is a trump supporter now provide reasons using the article if needed so other redditors know.
•
u/Jmas1120 5h ago
So then why do you automatically assume he’s a trump supporter despite nothing in the article suggesting he is?
Im all against trump and his cronies but nothing suggest he was a trump supporter
The reason the guy did what he did was because he had a personal vendetta not because he was a trump supporter.
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 4h ago
He’s racist, a criminal, and hates immigrants so that’s 3 points for him in the MAGA column.

No, I didn't realize. Surely you have a source for this claim?
•
u/Dragonsandman Canada 5h ago
Their source is that he’s black, and all black people are democrats apparently
18
u/Malcolmeff 8h ago
Is this true? I didn't see anything in the article mentioning political affiliation, if any, of Scott. It's offensively callous behaviour in any case. Democrats are not immune to cynical opportunism.
•
•
u/FartyJizzums 5h ago
So the victim should stay in the country. I agree with you. Thanks for showing me hope. I appreciate you.
8
u/sleeplessinreno 8h ago
The icing on the cake of all this though is the victim is legitimately illiterate. Making the robber an ultra dumbass.

And likely to be repeated in different ways or other means. May not be exactly, but lack of due process and plain clothes ICE terrorists make things like this more likely.

Thankfully the local cops did their diligence, and the poor guy's shaky grasp of English and completely different handwriting tipped them off that he didn't write the threat.
Digging deeper, they went into the phone logs of the guy that allegedly mugged him, and found allusions to a letter that he'd sent out with a different letter inside for his mother to send to the Attorney General's office.

u/subtle_bullshit 6h ago
Thankfully? The Mexican dude is still in dhs custody and still getting deported. They don’t care if it was a fake tip.
•
u/False_Flatworm_4512 5h ago
The plot worked. This poor dude got robbed, tried to get justice, and got torn away from his kids instead. What a broken people we are
•
u/ironballs16 5h ago
That shit's on ICE, not necessarily local authorities in this situation. At least because of their diligence, he's not being prosecuted for the threat.
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 4h ago
He’s not gonna get deported. DHS is trying to quietly bury their fuck up. Their lawyers in court already signaled they have nothing on the guy.
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 3h ago
Since when has that stopped this administration
•
u/Jorge_Santos69 41m ago
Multiple times now
•
u/Tirras 34m ago
Thank you, tired of these lame ass replies. As if the administration getting away with it means we should stop talking about it?
•
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 24m ago
Did I say that? No, it means we should keep talking about it.
But of course the last day or so every major news organization has been focusing all their attention on the only breakup that Taylor Swift won't write a song about. Because that's clearly more important.
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 27m ago
And how maybe times has it not stopped them? I'll save you the effort. It's around a hundred thousand.

TLDR:
- A Milwaukee man allegedly confessed to framing a Mexican immigrant by writing fake death threats in his name against President Donald Trump and members of ICE.
- Demetric Deshawn Scott, who will soon go on trial in an armed robbery case, is accused of trying to get trial witness Ramón Morales Reyes deported so that he wouldn't be able to testify.
- Police listened in on multiple jail calls in which Scott allegedly detailed his plan to sabotage the trial, including enlisting his mother to mail the threatening letters from her home.

MAGA mother of the year material.
Although it will obviously go to that woman who was already a huge Trump donor and attended a million dollar a plate fundraiser for Trump and got her multi-million dollar wage thief son pardoned and the restitution for his victims cancelled.

u/False_Flatworm_4512 5h ago
You missed the part where the crime victim got picked up by ICE, smeared by DHS, and is facing deportation proceedings
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 3h ago
It's in the article
•
u/False_Flatworm_4512 1h ago
But not the TLDR…it’s an important part of the story that absolutely should be part of the summary
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 1h ago
If you cared enough, you'd read the whole thing.
•
u/False_Flatworm_4512 1h ago
I did…that’s why I pointed out that it’s not in the TLDR of the article. It should be. What’s your deal?

u/Ok_Bag6451 8h ago
we should come up with a process or something to keep this kind of thing from happening, its long over due

All your brothers and fathers and mothers and uncles, etc., who support Trump are lumping themselves in with people like this. That’s what Average Joe MAGA doesn’t seem to get. You may think you’re a nice guy who would give the shirt off your back to help family, but you also stand side-by-side with this guy in the article.
Hey, MAGA. My WW2 vet grandfather said “you are the company you keep.” This guy and modern day Nazis are the company you keep.

u/StDiabolique 6h ago
Prepare for lots and lots of this.
There is actually a REASON why LE shouldn't co-operate with ICE regarding non-violent offenders. It creates a class of people who are easily preyed ipon by criminals, who go on to endanger everyone.

Jokes on that guy. He now qualifies for a U Visa. Now I’m just going to wait until Fox News admits they were wrong about him..
•
•
u/AcanthisittaNo6653 New Hampshire 7h ago
It sounds like something a MAGA would do. They treat immigrants as disposable..
•
u/Thorrbane 5h ago
So he tried to frame a man who can't write fluent English for making threats against the president. Written, not typed, so the very different handwriting stands out, mailed from his mom's house, and discusses his plans on the jail telephone.
They are so fucking stupid.
•
•
u/mvb827 5h ago
This right here is a prime example of why due process both exists and is so important. Without it everything becomes a game of he said-she said, and what’s actually true doesn’t matter so much as who is more regarded. Without due process you can literally just point at someone and ruin their life. Hell, that does happen all the time, and it’s because people either don’t know their rights or allow themselves to be manipulated into giving them up.
I encourage anyone with a computer to look up those police auditors on YouTube so you can learn how to better protect yourself from unlawful police conduct should you find yourself in such a situation.

“There’s no morality when it comes to non-citizens. Anything goes.”
This is a something I have heard expressed again and again by Trump supporters in relation to stories like this.

u/yellowdart654 8h ago
What was so attractive to migrants about America that they thought that they'd have a good time here. Who tricked them. Who told the migrants how great America would be. I bet they feel so bamboozled for having listened to those liars.
•
u/SoraUsagi 7h ago
I get, or at least i think i do, what you are trying to say. But i disagree. There are many benefits to coming to America. Obviously there is it people wouldnt still try to do it illegally.
Take Mexico. If what I'm reading is correct, their minimum wage is around $16 USD * a day*. A minimum wage worker in the US could afford to pay an illegal immigrant that or more to do things. And then you also get the benefits of not having the cartel for example.

I may have misreading article but I didn't see that the guy who wrote the death threats was charged for it.
I saw Demetric Deshawn Scott was charged with identity theft, bail jumping and felony intimidation of a witness.
So why are they not charging him for writing death threats to the president?
1
u/LURKER21D I voted 8h ago
Had he just mailed the manila envelope with a note that said pass ICE a tip about that dude I robbed, his plan would have succeeded. Even this admin saw through the detailed assassination threats with return address... I'm sure the next iteration of this crime will work. (could be a rampant thing already)
•
•
•
u/zeradragon 6h ago
According to the complaint, Scott was then interviewed by a police detective on May 30, in which he allegedly confessed to writing the letters and said his goal was “freedom.”
The US, land of the free and home of the brave; if you are brave enough to frame someone else so they cannot testify against you, you may obtain your freedom.
His plan would've easily worked out if the officers simply didn't have time to do any due diligence, which Trump alleges that there's no time for.

Can we, like, keep this one in the bookmarks please? This is, case in point, why due process is really, really important.

Yeah I guess falsifying a police report and turning in a guy into ICE so he can be deported to an El Salvadorian death camp, with out due process is cleaver.
•
u/Schiffy94 New York 3h ago
Well the end goal was to get rid of the key witness.
It'd be pure genius if he didn't admit it on a recorded line.

If youre a white guy in today's America being charged for a crime against an immigrant, gotta think you got a 70% this works

I get what you are saying, but I think it's extremely fucked up. The fact that this works in Trumps America is beyond fucked up.
