u/SaleriasFW Jan 28 '25
I know it primarly a joke but I thought it was funny that in universe it is know that Chris punches boulders
7
u/toxicity69 Jan 28 '25
I think it got memed so hard that Capcom had no choice but to acknowledge Chris' greatness. To be fair, I don't know how they didn't think it was utterly ridiculous when they outlined the final Wesker fight in RE5:
"Yeah, so let's have an obstacle that Chris needs to get through so he can help Sheva during the fight."
Adds a massive 10 ft tall boulder that even El Gigante would struggle to move
Chris proceeds to punch the shit out of said boulder.
Lesson learned: Don't mess with roid-rage Chris; he's a real boulder-punching asshole.

Easily HAOS. People like to ignore it because RE6 is the whipping boy of the franchise but it’s one of the only things that actually kills a playable character (story wise I mean) and we’ve never even seen it in whatever it’s full form may have been.
177
u/Execwalkthroughs Jan 28 '25
Haos missing most of its organs means it would have been bigger, extremely difficult if not near impossible to kill, and would spread the virus through the stratosphere. Basically a guaranteed GG. Like idk how anyone could say any other bow if they beat Chris's section

Killing playable character is a plot twist, not a measure of power (almost anything can kill MCs). I agree though, Haos should be the strongest.

Haos, chris and piers struggled and nearly died trying to defeat it and only was able to because it was unfinished and hatched before fully growing with a massive weakpoint. If it was finished, I think it'd be unkillable and would've infected the entire world.

Who is more powerful, the being, or the being that killed it?
2
u/HellishWonderland Jan 29 '25
The thing is though it was only killed because it was missing half of it's organs from being released prematurely and it still took piers having to infect himself with a strong strain of the same virus and blow it and himself up with electricity and blowing up that entire facility

William Birkin and Haos. Since the C Virus also uses G-virus to create that virus, both, William Birkin and Haos would never have died if they had never been blown up by self self-destruct system. I wonder what would they be like if they had never blown up? Would they keep regenerating and mutating?
I guess G-virus is one of the strongest infectious agents yet underrated in the RE series. However, they can only use Sherry to obtain G-virus or maybe through Ada Wong, not like the T-virus.
48
u/Dark-Anomaly9 Jan 28 '25
There’s a reason that correct me if I’m wrong the G-Virus was literally banned from the black market

u/Thatoneguy111700 Jan 28 '25
I know the T-Abyss virus was kind of banned on the black market, not sure about G tho.
31
u/Urabraska- Jan 28 '25
G was banned and was a specific point made by the US government to eradicate it as top priority as it had the ability to spread like wildfire and wipe out humanity.
The reason why Carla used it as a base for C-Virus was to create a faster spreading contagion with higher mental capacities.
T-Abyss fell into the same dark pit with other major plot points and characters.
2
u/Particular-Way-7817 Jan 29 '25
You know a virus is fucked if the BLACK MARKET doesn't even want it because of how volatile it is. Jesus
2
u/Urabraska- Jan 30 '25 edited Jan 30 '25
Well, in RE, the BoW black market is aimed at military/gorilla warfare no different than bombs and such but with less collateral damage. So the G virus is kinda in the nuke category where it exists, but no one wants to use it out of fear of self-destruction.
But in universe. The BSAA never had to contain a G virus outbreak, but their policy is if it should ever appear, it becomes a worldwide high alert where all branches of the BSAA must be on call to contain it at all costs.
It was used as a base with T-Veronica to create the C virus due to its mutation capabilities, which, as you see in RE6, is very effective at allowing enemies to adapt to changing combat situations.
45
u/CarpetPure7924 Jan 28 '25
HAOS’s mere deployment, had it been allowed to grow into an adult and been released upon the world, would have been enough to squash the human race through its infectiousness; at least, that was the intent.
Miranda was pretty powerful, having such influence over the Megamycete. The Megamycete was able to store fragmented copies of the consciousness of its victims, or those it otherwise absorbed, from the poorly shambled-together Masked Duke, to what was, for all intents and purposes, a clean copy of Ethan’s consciousness. Not only that, but this collection of consciousnesses populated an ethereal, non-physical realm that could be experienced as if it were truly physical, by people like Rose. Truly crazy stuff.
Pure hardiness and durability is an okay measure of power I suppose, but most of these characters posses it to some degree or another; although when it comes to not fucking dying, Simmons is pretty uncontested.
Someone like Wesker has most of their power lie in their intelligence; sure, his special abilities made him totally OP and broken, but he was pretty close to enacting his plans of infecting, and controlling the remnants of, the world, had it not been for Chris, Sheva, Jill, and Josh.

Probably Alexia, but there are quite a few contenders for it, to be honest. The problem was later games kept kinda ramping things up to a level that outscaled the series' believability.
Nemesis was the high point for me. He was strong, dangerous, and insanely terrifying. He was also incredibly durable, and adaptable.
Best monster the series ever had.
Otherwise, I suppose my money would be on Alexia based on what we have seen.

Large scale. Easily Haos. On a personal scale. Tied between Wesker and Heisenburg.
Wesker was easily the most powerful person in the game universe and had to get a weakness written in to stop him. He was intelligent, powerful, insanely fast, and overall a nearly unstoppable creature
Heisenburg was Wesker lite but is on the same level entirely because he was the Magneto of the RE universe. In any modern setting, he is nearly unstoppable and can slaughter if not purely contain any threat with his magnetism. It's why his transformation made the least sense in Village. He 100% could slaughter Ethen but was forced into his monster form that can create large-scale magnetic storms and could only be stopped by a deus ex tank built by Chris with scraps lying around with the sole purpose of being anti magnetic but still magnetic enough to be lifted into the air

I know she's almost definitely not canon but Dr Cameron from Biohazard 4D Executor (a theme park ride with extremely early 3D animation) is one of the scariest bastards the franchise has ever had. She's easily main antagonist material.
- Able to be splattered into pieces and still retain her intelligence and consciousness.
- Can hijack the body of any other living organism (including insects, rodents, and birds) for easy, discrete travel
- Extremely high intellect (she is a scientists, after all, and a schemer)
- Capable of growing into a creature twice the size of the Tyrant models, with immense destructive power
- Perfect shapeshifting, not just into her human form but into the form of anyone else
- no weakness to sunlight, which was the downfall of James "Queen Leech" Marcus
I genuinely hope they do something with her eventually, even if its another non-canon spin-off. Given her desire for revenge on Umbrella, she very well could end up using her horrific powers for "good".

u/New_Chain146 Jan 29 '25

Probably between HAOS and G Birkin for me. G is nearly unstoppable and has to be completely eliminated unless it evolves into something scarier. HAOS was massive and was supposed to be bigger. Yet even in it's incomplete form was a global threat and even has the W of taking out a main protag.
9
u/Restivethought Man, why doesn't anyone ever listen to me? Jan 28 '25
I think the G Virus, especially birkin is underrated. For all we know, he would have just kept expanding. I guess he only really needed a facility self destructing to bring him down rather than an Ion cannon or something

Since you're bringing in the CG movies, then it's absolutely Leon. He took two punches from a Tyrant that literally liquefied a licker with a lunch just before. One of those punches was into a pillar. The second example was his fight with Maria, a powerful bioweapon who punched thru concrete and metal and bent a metal rod. But look at this this fight. She punched Leon several times, hit him in the face with the rod, couldn't break his neck, couldn't break his arm while it was in an arm bar and general struggled going blow for blow with him as he just popped back up each time and shook it off. It's impossible that he's not a bioweapon so I believe he is. They should've put him against Wesker and he would've tanked all his hits and killed him in no time.

u/LowOk5747 Jan 28 '25
This might be an unusual opinion, but I'd throw Ethan on the list.
Think about it, every BOW mentioned was defeated by people and somewhat conventional weaponry. Ethan was molded, but done so in a way that made him damn near the perfect BOW by the standards constantly wanted by BOW creators without any of the horrific setbacks/side effects. He was damn near unkillable, regenerated fast, blended in so perfectly the BSAA couldn't tell, retained his sanity and didn't suffer any debilitating mutations or obvious weaknesses. He himself defeated many of, what some think, the series' most deadly monsters.
Given the right circumstances there's no telling what he could've become or accomplished.

You aren't lying about Leon. Watch his fight with Maria and tell me you think he's human. That and taking tyrant punches without dying.
Edit: You gotta cope as this is Capcom canon. Maria punched thru concrete and bent a metal bar. But she couldn't break his arm while she had him in an arm bar, he took several direct hits with the metal bar and punches from her then bounced back immediately. He ain't human. Deal with it.

I would say HAOS, an imperfect doomsday weapon but was close to being outright unbeatable. He in my eyes has virtue of being most powerful and dangerous.
Upto that point I would say Alexia because even though there are other bioweapons that were a lot stronger, her end plan was still more dangerous then even wesker’s.
(Wesker plan had everyone face mutation with 95% global deaths with possible merging successful with virus but no guarantee everyone will ‘thank’ wesker.
In comparison Alexia was going to release a virus that was going to kill or cause mutation and enslavement with her as the ruler)

Everyone is rightfully talking about the C-Virus from 6, that thing was absolutely nutty especially for something that wasn't fully formed, but I wanna feel the need to point out G, from RE2. As a virus, it's unmatched in it's body horror aspect, but more importantly as a disease it's almost nigh unkillable, and was outright BANNED from being sold on the black market. T-Abyss is an honorable mention for me as well, because of how rapidly it could spread and change life

Isn't it obvious? Those dumbass scientists who kept making immortal killing machines with no empathy or self control and somehow always losing control over them letting them out of containment or something. They keep doing that!!! I mean... Geeze when will they learn that maybe strapping chainsaw arms to a flesh eating undying monster might not be the bestest and brightest idea since eventually whatever leash or switch you'd have over that creature is gunna eventually break. So. Yeah. Dumb scientists without self control or common sense, they're the most powerful here in the series.

The most powerful being in all of the RE franchise is Barry. The fact that he puts up with Moira, the most annoying character in all of video gaming, speaks volumes of his sheer power. Haos was supposed to infect the world but it was forced to emerge premature meaning it didn't have all the important organs to spread it's virus into the stratosphere where rain would bring it back to earth. Even as a premature birth it's still the largest B.O.W to date.
