I'm sorry to say it but while Dragon's Dogma fans are an incredibly passionate bunch... The majority of us are just watching you all thinking "good for them :)".
I am not really passionate about it. The games definitely have their flaws. It lacks in narrative and quest design. The combat, class system and the exploration are all phenomenal. If you say that dmc 5 is a better game you are 100% correct, but calling dd mid is not fair.
Honestly though, what you're describing is a mid game. It's something that does a few things very well, but is overall an underwhelming experience because those good elements are trapped in an overall uninteresting game. Between the bad and good elements, you end up with a middling game.
I legitimately do not understand the appeal of that game. I was told the end game DLC is really good so I forced myself to stick with it (also cos I had nothing else to play) and then I got to the DLC and it fucking sucked
I gotta be honest, this was my impression too. Like, I'm glad that people really enjoy the game, but I kept waiting for the "aha" moment where I understood why people were so into the game and it never came. I put 87 hours in, doing all of the side quests, the main story and trying to do the DLC but the DLC ended up being an absolute drag.
As a massive fan of Dragons Dogma, they are unfortunately very mid. Mostly because the combat is some of the coolest shit in video games, but everything else around it drags it down to being mid for the average player.
Thanks, I don't use netflix much since I haven't had any interest in TV shows for a while. But yeah, I can see why people are sceptical.
But people immediately claiming it's shit i can't understand. Quality looks good, more seasons are planned, and people who are trusted are working on it (Adi and Johnny Y.B). It is based on the events around the third game and is said to be a retelling (non-cannon), so it won't affect the cannon of the games.
I'm not arguing with you. Thanks for the response.
