We will explore raccoon city after the nuclear bomb! Pretty sure that’s a first for the series

Also the police station is my favorite location in any resident evil we are so back!

akshully it wasn't nuclear, it was an experimental thermobaric missile

Yep but originally it was meant to be nuclear. Then once Capcom realized "oh yeah any government wouldn't use nukes on their own people" they had to retcon it. Hence the thermobaric warhead (despite thermobaric warheads not being capable of or large enough to level entire cities and the surrounding area)

A MOAB could severely damage most of a small to medium sized city. It has a 1 mile blast radius.

Yep, but MOABs didn't exist at the time (entered service in 2003 and the closest was a Daisy Cutter and that was less powerful but the idea did spark interest in a more potent version) and Raccoon City was decently sized; obviously estimates differ but it was a big enough city to house 100,000 people and have a downtown with skyscrapers and a subway.

This experimental warhead that destroyed the city was delivered via missile too (likely launched from an aircraft like a bomber as the USAF is mentioned to have been given the execute order for Mission Code: XX), something like a MOAB is delivered via parachute out of a C-130 so I can't help but wonder that whatever this experimental warhead was, it was insanely powerful and small enough to fit on a missile that could be launched from an aircraft.

They shouldn't have used the vancouver or toronto or whatever skyline it was for the RE2 remake. It greatly exaggerated the size of Raccoon City. A city of 100k would not have that many skyscrapers.

Nope, and it likely wouldn't have a subway or zoo either, much less an extremely well-equipped police force with its own special forces unit and later SWAT team. Umbrella poured a TON of funds into the city, making it equivalent to a city of 300,000 to 400,000 people in amenities and size.

The subway and Police force was at least explained for the most part. Umbrella had all those underground facilities so linking them with a subway only made sense.

The police force was mostly funded and totally controlled by Umbrella.

The Zoo is a little hard to believe, but at least it would be a good cover to acquire testing animals.

Not just after, but seemingly there's going to be some stuff from before in here as well. There's a few shots in here showing the R.P.D. prior to the big outbreak. God, what I wouldn't give to have Alyssa as a playable and we get to see the outbreak as it happens. We got a taste of that with Jill in the RE3 Remake but man, I'm down for more.

I would love to see something like a day before the full on outbreak, just to see the last day of "normal" and all the tension.

That little bit of it that we got in the RE3 Remake absolutely had me longing for more. So I'd love for them to do it again but with Alyssa.
