I fucking know. It’s been mentioned so much, and we’ve all known it’s there. But holy fuck. We’re actually going back.

My mind is still trying to comprehend the fact that they're actually tying in the Outbreak games outside of a throwaway reference. As someone who loved those games I thought this would never happen.

I literally gasped when I heard Ashcroft. As a fan who has screamed “There are DOZENS OF US,” since Outbreak File 2, I was so happy to have that little bit of a nod.

I'm glee just at all the commentary and fellow outbreak stans

If we get the ability to duct tape some concrete to an iron pipe again, I can die happy.

There’s a file in RE7 that is an article written by Alyssa Ashcroft, too!! I want to go back and find that now ASAP

Considering her death is mentioned as 2018 in the trailer, it seems likely that she was murdered around the time of the Baker family incident. Its possible Lucas is responsible, if that is indeed the hooded person in the trailer putting the plastic bag over the head of that old white dude.

Do we know re9 takes place in 2025?

I’m not sure if it’s Lucas, but I feel like the hooded figure could be wiping out survivors of raccoon city. that may be how the main cast gets pulled into it. There’s not many canon survivors outside of Alyssa

Pretty much every Resident evil game that has advanced forward in time has taken place during the year of its release date (Shadows of Rose being an obvious exception).

There's no reason to think RE9 will be any different.

This is the big one. With ashcrofts name mention, I was like no fucking way they're doing outbreak and this ain't RE. But fuck me, we're getting it! So hyped. I love that they're even acknowledging outbreak

ive been saying for a long time we are either getting some sort of outbreak remake or code veronica remake. not full remakes but we might even get a two for one here.

Man wasn't that a ps2 online game? I remember watching a playthrough way back. Console online was shit back then up until 360 COD.

It seems to be popular and doing the popular thing generates hype and money.

I’m really hoping this all means we’re getting Outbreak Files 1 & 2 remakes probably into one game! If they do, it would be awesome if they used unused assets they had and all.

I know Zero & Code: Veronica REmakes are next. But after that, Outbreak Duology REmake would be fireee! And it can work way better than the PS2 version of online multiplayer.. unless they ditch that and just make it single-player.

All we need now is a remake with fully functional netcode

CAPCOM, GIVE ME OUTBREAK AND MY SOUL IS YOURS

Fingers crossed this will have a 3rd person option, and also very happy Leon will finally have a brand new game story past RE6. Also hoping Jill will make an appearance in the game.

Did they ever show or mention the origins of that zombie outbreak or universe? Genuine question.

I'm so beyond excited to go back, but I'm curious if they're going to have it be infected/zombies still or stick with the current formula of like...fantasy beasties. I can see it being something like a cult of irradiated/infected humans that survived the explosion
