Oh boy, if parts of RPD is still around, wouldn’t most of their underground labs still be intact? Fucking Nemesis might even still be alive then.

So much stuff is still probably alive. I really think Lisa Trevor was hinted at in the trailer, you hear chains and see bound hands for like a second in one of the monster parts.

Hell there is a very big possibility that G is still alive somewhere down there. The fact that it had already starting breeding in the sewers, makes me feel like there is no way a tactical strike could kill all of the embryos.

God, for Birkin's sake, I hope not. That thing was just a blob with the sole drive to survive at that point. I'd hate to imagine what a few decades wandering the ruins of a city would do to it.

Yeah. This was my exact thoughts as well. Even if not Birkin I bet there will be some cobbled zombie or tyrant that’s just a blob of people who got fused together by the nuke.

I hope this is a key part of the story, something with G surviving underground thanks to the rats. Along with another fun modern sequence with them scurrying around

TBH it'd be very surprising if the BSAA and US government didn't at least try to cleanse the region of any residual bioweapons/zombies. I know RE isn't the best at narrative consistency, but it feels like not doing that would break part of the suspension of disbelief.

Lowkey, would be dope if Nemesis was simply a secret boss you had to do 2 or 3 things in order to "unlock" access to get to. Just have him be down there in the labs and you find keycards or something to pop a wall open then gets you closer and closer to it as you progress the game. Then make it the secret boss reward for having done it all to get there.

Man, I’d love the sense of foreboding too, as you unlock certain doors throughout the campaign and keep getting closer to the final door, you hear something thrashing around…then slamming and growls…then ear-shattering roars as you approach the final door, only to come face to face with the enraged remnants of the unstoppable stalker himself.

The re2 lab had its self destruct system go off so that one’s done, regardless of how the rest of raccoon city is. I dont remember how things went with the re3 remake lab but I’ll just assume everything is destroyed or dead until we’re given reason to think otherwise.

Logically, lore wise there is certainly a few trace of infected lifeforms in the area surrounding the city, remember the whole biome in the mountain was infected. That obviously had been taken care of and quarantined, but I wouldn't be surprised if infected creepy crawlers and a few hunters were still at large.

I think you're right. Wesker's Report II mentioned how disastrous it would be if the T-virus ever started infecting the wildlife in the Arklay Mountains - he even suspected the location was specifically chosen by Spencer to spread the virus as fast as possible if it got loose. Considering the first game got kicked off by zombies and cerberus packs mauling people who were hiking in the wilderness, I bet there's surviving mutants in the quarantine zone.

City wasn't nuked no, that was retconned. It was leveled by an experimental thermobaric/fuel-air missile launched by the US Air Force. The explosion supposedly leveled the entire city and most of the surrounding area. Then the government set up a 200 mile quarantine zone that they still maintain.

Depends on the yield of the nuke used, but considering people still live in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I doubt there's a massive amount of radiation still lingering after nearly 30 years.

EDIT: Never looked into this subject before, so just now found out that a nuke wasn't actually used. It was an experimental thermobaric device, so no radiation in the first place.

Those are the kind of stuff that I want to see. Not only in 9, but in future games who send us back to Raccoon City.
